Two firefighters injured at two-alarm South End fire

The Boston Fire Department reports firefighters responded to 534 Columbus Ave. at Worcester Street around 2:40 p.m. for what turned into a two-alarm fire at the five-story building.

The department reports residents were evacuated safely but that two firefighters suffered injuries not considered life-threatening. \

A total of 29 residents were displaced, the department says.

The department estimates damage at $750,000 and says the cause remains under investigation.
