Water lilies in full bloom in Wards Pond
By adamg on Wed, 06/27/2018 - 5:34pm
Across Perkins Street and down an embankment from Jamaica Pond, you'll find the much smaller - and far less visited - Wards Pond.
Right now, the water lilies are in full bloom - along with other flowers, some of which you might have to look for pretty carefully, because they're kind of small.
The pond is fed at one end by a waterfall from a tunnel under Perkins Street from Jamaica Pond:
At the other end of the pond, the Muddy River, such as it is at that point, leaves the pond and heads to Willet and Leverett ponds.

Lovely!
Thank you for some beauty today.
This used to be one of...
... my secret spots years ago before they repaired the boardwalk and cleaned up the stone steps. Watch out for snappers if you attempt to wade out to sample the fragrance from those lilies.
It’s a beautiful spot especially on a hot day as it is shady and in a large ravine.
Keep Pond fresh and live
Lillies are very attractive to everyone. Pond lover especially really love them. It is just to keep them fresh and live. For this, you need a leak-free pond.
