He's not alone
The domestic violence rate is 2-4 times higher among police households compared to the general public.

Gary knows why
those wives weren't being polite enough.
Did I make this up?
I thought all BPD officers were Boston residents....?
they can move after a certain number of years
i forget how many. same is true for fire fighters.
City gave away residency. Officers often falsely accused.
I'll let someone else clarify the current BPD residency requirement but I believe the city gave up the very strict rule around the same time somebody with ties to the late Mayor wanted to move out of the city. As for police (or anybody) inflicting domestic abuse, it's inexcusable when true. I have no direct knowledge of this case and hope justice prevails.
What the linked article doesn't delve into are the "magic words" that spouses/partners know will cause the arrest of the police officer and the loss of gun license/duty status. We've all witnessed unstable relationships. The Globe even devotes a column to it. While I'm sure most of those reporting police DV are true victims, a certain subset knows that if they say, "he hit me," the officer will be arrested and gun seized, career derailed. The article questions why so many officers are restored to full duty without exploring how many were cleared in court, long after the cameras moved on. It's an omnipresent Sword of Damocles for officers falsely accused.

Good to see somebody who was
Good to see somebody who was supposedly a member of law enforcement openly blaming victims. It's unbelievable how fucked up the criminal justice system is in this country. We live in Hell.
Usual bullshit lying
Per usual, spreading you neanderfuchinthal BS - you continue to surprise with your unrepentant mysoginist crapola
Doesn't even make sense, Fish
If anything, this is a reason for victims of domestic violence not to come forward, if their families are dependent on the income from that officer's job. Believe it or not, even in troubled marriages, people aren't looking to totally derail their spouse's life for no reason.
10 years in the city for BFD
10 years in the city for BFD BPD.
Ten years Boston residency
Police and firefighters must be residents of the city of Boston for ten years before they are allowed to move out of the city.
After you move out
After you move out, are you still required to come in on every Election day and vote for the mayor?
How many more incidents like
How many more incidents like this need to happen before a reform ?
Good guy
With a gun!
