Police say footprints in fresh snow led officers to loaded gun guy was walking around Fields Corner with until he spotted them
Boston Police report arresting a Dorchester man for the gun loaded with 14 bullets he was traipsing around Fields Corner with on Friday.
Police say officers responded to a call about a guy with a gun in the area of 10 Parkman St. in Dorchester around 10:55 p.m.
Officers located two suspects walking from the area. As officers approached the two suspects, they immediately began to walk in opposite directions. Officers were quickly able to stop both suspects and conducted a pat frisk.
Officers were aware of the fresh snowfall and observed footprints in the snow leading to bushes between two residences from one of the suspects. Officers located a discarded firearm from the area and placed the suspect into handcuffs. The firearm was later determined to be a Rockland USA with one round in the chamber and thirteen rounds in the magazine.
Dionte Wall, 20, was arrested on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a large-capacity feeding device and unlawful possession of ammunition, police say.
Dorchester Municipal Court Judge Thomas Kaplanes this morning set bail at $10,000, then ordered Wall held at the Suffolk County jail because he could not come up with the money, court records show. Wall's next court hearing is scheduled for Jan. 15.
