Storrowing usually involves bridges, but nothing says it can't happen in a tunnel

Danielle Johns had no choice but to gaze upon this stuck truck in the Sumner Tunnel shortly before noon:
Heading from airport into Boston so might want to find another route. Traffic waaay backed up.

Seems they are in need of good drivers!
Per the message on back of the trailer.
We solved this brain teaser
back in grade school;
deflate the tires enough to lower the truck several inches and slowly exit at the ramp
Oh boy! What the hell!?
My god--how stupid can somebody get? Having this kind of s**t happen under a bridge is horrible enough, but when it happens in a tunnel, forget it! The situation is a hell of a lot worse.
As for this:
I highly doubt that it would work.
It works. Not in all
It works. Not in all situations depending on the load and amount of clearance needed, but it's the first thing they will try.
Well....
Well....
It might work to back things out.
Pushing further pas the first jam point - only a Kylo Ren temper tantrum and a red lightsaber will get the truck out.
Deflating tires has been SOP for dealing with overheight
trucks in the Summer and Callahan Tunnels for as long as I can remember. It's also been used effectively in dealing with trucks and buses on Storrow Drive (at least those that don't wind up totally mangled) as well
Over Height Vehicles
I'm pretty sure MassDoT has put in over height vehicle warning signs prior to entering the Sumner. Mostly because it was flashing yesterday morning telling whoever it was to exit right and not to enter the tunnel. Clearly truck drivers don't know to read the signs yet.
And yes, deflating the tires works. How else do you think the truck is going to get out? Massage a little oil or butter all around it to lube it up?
Willful ignorance seems to be a huge factor in storrowing
Either truck drivers don't know how to read the signs yet, or they're willfully stupid and ignorant.
