Boston Magazine reports on butcher Max Gitlen's plans to convert the former JP Gas on Centre Street into an outlet for "locally sourced, grass-fed meats."

Glad the site will be used for something. Would rather see mixed-use ground floor commercial with residential housing above it. Prime location for that.

Might be the most underutilized parcel in JP. Right on the corner of Centre and St John, a crumbling former auto shop that functions as a parking lot for half-dozen cars or so.

There are 4 gas stations in that area. What a waste. Centre Street would be so much better without them. They are an anti urban eye sore. Glad one of them is on the way out.

I wish I could afford local grass fed meat. I don't qualify for food stamps, either. Hell, I can't even afford Stop & Shop. Just buy the cheap cuts and slow cook it.

The Blizzard of 78 was quite an experience to live through. You may think 2015 was bad, my friend, but there is no comparison. 78 has a special place in N.E. winter storm history.

So naturally it still makes an impression upon some us who survived it.

We had a week of no cars, and two weeks of no school. Once we were shovelled out, it was time to walk to the packie and return with the flexible flyer stacked with provisions.

Passes that gas station. I take it every week on my way to my 11-7 AM job and I swear those gas station lights are on every night. Whose paying for that?
