Man down from New Hampshire to celebrate his 21st birthday fatally stabbed in the back by his brother-in-law, DA says

A Hollis, NH man was ordered held without bail at his arraignment today on charges he stabbed his brother-in-law in a room at the Hotel Indigo on Friend Street during a shoving match between the victim and his sister - his alleged murderer's wife. the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

According to the DA's office, victim Chrisopher Kellar of New Hampshire was in town on Saturday to celebrate his 21st birthday with an acquaintance and with Ren Rodgers, 23, and Rodgers's wife - Kellar's sister.

After returning from dinner, Kellar and his sister got into a fight, Kellar left, then returned shortly before 11:30 p.m. to collect some of his belongings and the argument started up again and Kellar began pushing his sister, the DA's office reports.

Rodgers then plunged a knife into Kellar's back, the DA's office says, adding Rodgers remained at the hotel to await police.

Isn't Kellar the victim? Do murder victims often leave the scene rather than awaiting police?

I saw a report on on of the local newscasts. It told of a previous incident where the victim in this tragedy had threatened to kill these people in their sleep.
Just the same a very sad tale.
