Alleged Arborway armed home invader nabbed in Virginia, police say

Boston Police report that Washington Pearson, 55, wanted for breaking into a residence on the Arborway in Jamaica Plain on Oct. 24 and then trying to rape and kill its occupant, was arrested Tuesday in Norfolk, VA.

Police say US marshals tracked him down, then arrested him.

He's now in a Virginia lockup as prosecutors here move to have him extradited to face charges, initially in West Roxbury Municipal Court, of attempted murder, strangulation or suffocation, armed robbery, assault to rape and breaking and entering, police say.
