A new reason not to lend your phone to a stranger

Transit Police report a man who let a stranger at JFK/UMass uses his phone yesterday afternoon discovered after the guy gave him his phone back that the guy had used it to send $100 via Cash App to an unknown account.

Unfortunately for the phone owner, he didn't realize this until after he had already gotten on a Red Line train and he got a notification about the money transfer, police say.

Police described the Cashapper as white, 30 to 35 and about 5'9".

'Tis the season.

Magoo can think of an other reason Magoo should not lend anyone Magoo’s phone. For example the concept of stranger danger informs Magoo that a stranger might have a stink palm and if Magoo lends Magoo’s phone to the stranger, the stink would get on Magoo’s phone. A stink palm is when one rubs one’s palm between one’s bummy cheeks and bummy crack. stink then gets on the palm and then can be transferred to other surfaces, such as Magoo’s phone in the above hypothetical. When Magoo refers to “stink” Magoo actually means poopoo bits or dingleberries that might be lodged in the bummy hair. Magoo.

I think I’d rather loan my phone to a stranger than to Magoo.

Nobody wants to read this disturbed individual's descriptions of smearing his feces on himself. He doesn't need attention, he needs an intervention.

Someone never saw Mallrats...

I'd much rather Adam add in an ignore feature, than try and banish site community members. There are a good number of posters on the site that I am turned off by, but ignore them. An ignore button is something that think is better. I've been on this site for several years, but rarely post due to the combative stance that several responders like to take. I also almost never reply to posts to my posts.

I'm one of the rare people that actually give the "thumbs up" to Magoo posts.

I’d rather a magoo post than a bike brigade poster, even though magoo is super annoying. Ignore is the solution in this situation.

Yes.
Yes, yes.
Yes, yes, & yes.

Would love to never see another Magoo response, so I hustle on by them.

At least you can make an informed guess which threads will erupt into a bike fight, whereas Magoo could be in any thread, hiding around any corner, waiting to throw a bag of shit into the works

that used to post about blue line breakdowns like:
i'm blue da ba dee da ba daa
da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa
da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa.

i'm blue da ba dee da ba daa
da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa
da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa.

i'm blue da ba dee da ba daa
da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa
da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa, da ba dee da ba daa.

Never got that da be do, ba ba boo, shoo be doo old 90s song reference. Dated.

and think of them every time Adam makes a turkey post. Gone but not forgotten.

..

okay.

To not read what Magoo posts.

If only…

It doesn't work anymore.

True.
If I read one, I only blame myself.

If Magoo is what is getting your Huggies in a bunch I suggest that you chill out and reflect real hard on resilience. Is Magoo really the most noxious commenter on here?

That's why they have passcode security options.

...as long as they're in close physical proximity to their owner's smartwatch or earbuds or some other Bluetooth device. Gotta be careful.

Idiots!!!!

...lend a stranger on a T platform my cellphone. I wouldn't be worrying he/she could transfer cash I'd be worrying they might just run away with it.

If available, make sure that your cash/finance apps (re-)require a password/biometric confirmation to complete the transaction.

it doesnt mention fone brand but most android devices have a feature where one presses the back and app-overlay buttons for 3 seconds so that the current running app is the only app that can run until the owner unlocks it (kids mode).

my brother has a $100 tablet from wecool (never heard of them) that he bot online. he uses it as a kiosk for his business for paypal and thats how he prevents his customers from looking up porn on chrome.

Guess it offsets all the malware from the unregulated AppStore.

But I have made phone calls for them. Some requests are legit.

Don't know Cash App, but I assume it has a sign-in?

And if the user lets the phone save his signin info, well, that's on him.

There are certain apps and accounts you should NEVER let your password manager save the log-in information for, such as anything banking or financial related.

There''s something particularly sad seeing people take advantage of the kindness of strangers. I've gotten in jams where strangers have gone out of their way and vice versa. It's shameful to violate that trust.
