Downtown gets a new food-delivery option until 2 a.m.

The Boston Licensing Board yesterday gave Eatery on Broad, a self described "scaled down food hall" at 45 Broad St. downtown permission to extend its closing time from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. to serve downtown residents hankering for some of its donuts, pasta or sandwiches to go.

The restaurant's small dining area will still shut at 11, but the place will remain open for third-party delivery drivers or people who need some takeout until 2 a.m.

At a hearing Wednesday, Eatery on Broad's Tye Ali said he didn't think parking for pickups would be a problem because there's basically nobody else around that area late at night.
