Just in time for opening day: Remy's seeks extra hour for roof deck

Jerry Remy's on Bolyston Street goes before the Boston Licensing Board next week for permission to keep its season-old roof deck open until midnight seven days a week. The restaurant currently has to start ushering guests off the roof by 11 p.m. when it's open.

The board's hearings begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in its eighth-floor hearing room at City Hall.

Where did you find the hearing schedule? I've been trying for several days to find info on next week's hearings.

They usually get into the calendar at www.cityofboston.gov the Friday (sometimes Thursday) before the week they're scheduled.

In this case, though, I got an e-mail from the city notification system:

http://www.cityofboston.gov/subscribe/ - scroll down for Neighborhood Early Notification System and check off the neighborhoods for which you want notice of licensing and zoning-board hearings (the licensing hearings are only the ones from people requesting licenses; you'll need to check the calendar, above, for the Tuesday violation hearings).

Yes, I've been checking the calendar but they haven't posted anything yet. Thanks for the info about the email lists!

and next year they go before the Board again and ask for a 2:00 AM closing.
