After the last few days, we could use some Pedro

For a couple of midday hours, Pedro Martinez handed and tossed Good Humor ice-cream bars to fans lined up outside an ice-cream truck in the broiling sun on Dartmouth Street, across from Back Bay station. He signed one woman's do-rag - while it was still on her head - petted a couple's dachshunds and came out of the truck to say hello to a baby in a stroller.

I say this with total sincerity...
I'm actually happy he's back. Am I the only one?
Well he looks like he's takings things in...

Good Humor.
YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I've always liked Pedro's
I've always liked Pedro's spirit. I too am glad to be seeing more of him lately.
Not the God, but a deity nevertheless
We knew he was good coming here, but when he got here 23,000 a night Fenway got a boost. All of a sudden the Fenway of the Yawkey / Harrington Era Pasty Dough Faced People (Kinda like me now, at least physically) was put on notice. The culture around the Sox changed, at least until the Stamford Clown came and went in 2012. There were people cheering loudly, Dominican flags being waved and that power and finesse he brought changed the Sox for the better. It led to the greatest 10 days in baseball history in October 2004.
The man struck out 5 of the first 6 batters he faced in the 1999 All Star game, at the peak of roids. His crushing of the Indians in the 99 playoffs while hurt I will never forget and was watched in the long gone Chili's in Copley Place.
He will be a first ballot HOFer in 2015. Anyone who votes against him will be considered a heretic and burned at the stake.
No
I love Pedro. Back when he was playing, I was sitting in the Coke seats behind the Sox dugout. He wasn't playing that day, but he was out interacting with the crowd. My dad jokingly held his phone up and said "phone's for you, Pedro." He motioned for my dad to throw it to him and the woman on the other end got the thrill of her life as he chatted with her.
Pedro never fails to make me
Pedro never fails to make me happy. He was so entertaining to root for!
Did they pay him in ice
Did they pay him in ice cream?
Best flavor? Toasted almond, which is also the most difficult to find.
He signed one woman's do-rag
Who the hell get a do-rag signed, Yo Pedro will you sign my underwear next.
Guess it's time to call it
Grudge is over. Welcome back, Pedro.
