Hey!
Stop hogging up the sidewalk!
it's gotta be
bacon in this weather.
Seriously, though, don't we have leash laws? Something ain't kosher here.
Ahhh....Newbury Street
Where all the hipster morons take their exotic pets to get the attention they never got from Mom and Dad...
Maybe the other way around
Maybe the hipster morons engage in this foolish behavior because they got TOO much attention from mom and dad, and now expect it from the rest of society. The entitled self esteem generation. You know, the "everyone is a winner, everybody gets a prize, even the ones who lost the game" generation.
Maybe both!
Because having anything other than a dog or a cat for a pet is an obvious indication of being a hipster moron!
...really, guys? Let the pig owner/s have their pig, and their fun.
Anyhow, cute pig, and obviously accustomed to the occasional city stroll. Probably as smart and well-behaved as at least half the dogs sharing Newbury Street with it too...
Not owning a dog or cat is fine,
but to bring your pig onto Newbury Street in an obvious ploy for attention has hipster written all over it. Plus one would look at the surrender rate for pigs at shelters like Nevens Farm and I'm sure you'll see what happens to hipster owned pigs once the novelty wears off...
You are wrong
Bringing Bobby to Newbury is not a ploy for attention. Don't judge someones choices without first knowing their reason.
OK, then enlighten me...
Where will you be bringing Bobby this week? The Bunker Hill projects? Bromley-Heath? Perhaps a visit to Downtown Crossing?
Where o where will you be bringing selfless joy to children of all socioeconomic backgrounds this week, pray tell, not-a-hipster?
Where will YOU be this week?
What does it matter to you where I go with my pig? Hes a fantastic pet and I love taking care of him. You shouldn't be so quick to make assumptions or senseless judgments about people you don't know.
dvdoff -- You're being a real....
...douche about this. Why does it matter to you what pets people own -- as long as said pets are not likely to harm you?
I'm not a hipster
And I am certainly not a moron. I bring Bobby around town because he makes thousands of people smile and he enjoys the attention himself. I guess you are from the "narrow-minded" generation that makes negative judgments about people you don't know?
How old is he?
Has he always been an urban pig? If not, was there any adjustment for him?
Bobby was born in Montana
But he has lived in Boston his entire life. The neighborhood parks are accommodating but he spends much of his time rooting in a garden or swimming at the beach away from the city.
Beach?
I've heard that pigs sunburn. Is that true? Does Bobby ever show any signs of discomfort that would indicate such a thing? If so, is it safe to use sunblock on Bobby?
I'm serious. As a person with very burn-prone almost translucent skin, that's the first thing I thought of when you said he likes the beach.
My second thought - How does salt water affect a pig? My guess is most pigs don't swim in the ocean much.
My third thought - Some folks at the beach must do a double take when they see a pig swimming toward them!
(I shouldn't have to throw in a disclaimer, but I suppose I will just in case anyone is wondering. I'm not being snide. I think this whole thing is fascinating.)

Pig Beach
If I had a bucket list, visiting this place would be on it.
Maybe they make lipstick, too?
I had to look this up. You can use human sunscreen, but someone has - of course - put together a skincare line for pigs, too: http://www.pigs4ever.com/pot_bellied_pig_products/...
Where all the hipster morons
Oh no! Somebody is enjoying themselves! Make them stop!! Make them stooooopppppp!!!!!!!
Bobby
I saw them on Newbury last week as well. The little guys name is bobby. His owner is a genius .. girls were FLOCKING to him to take a picture. Oink on, Bobby.
Didn't realize
that the Ziffles were visting Boston.
Already enough swine and piggeries on Newbury
Already enough swine and piggeries on Newbury. Consume away tourists and yuppies!
