With temperatures falling below freezing, hibernation was their only hope

The people at the front of the line outside the Walpole Walmart around 11 p.m. were in no mood to talk about when they got there or what they were going to buy or do much of anything besides huddling inside their cocoons.
There was a similar scene outside the Dedham Best Buy, although the overall line there was a lot shorter.

I seriously hope they get some amazing deals.
This is some cold weather to be hanging out in.
Line in front of Somerville Target was huge
Line in front of Everett Best Buy and Target was even larger. Even the depressing Medford Kohl's had about 15 people waiting in line. The Square One Mall looked pretty busy too.
Walpole Kohl's was fundamentally suburban
When we checked in there shortly before 11, there were three people waiting outside - all in their cars.
You know I wonder how many of these people.....
Buy a store credit card and get that initial 5-15% savings on a first purchase. If you have the ability to do this once a year and can pay it off the next month, you will probably save more than whatever deal you can get by sitting outside for 10 hours.
Target has a card which actually give you off 5% on every purchase. I of course have to explain to my wife that she is losing money once I figured out she wasn't paying the maximum every month. I bet there are people other than my wife who falls into that trap.
I'm not really sure I would
I'm not really sure I would refer to that as a trap, its pretty much the one principal on which credit cards function. But as the comments section of Universal Hub has mentioned before, primary school would benefit from a basic managing your money course.
Well this is even a bigger trap.
Because they give you up to 20% off sometimes for your first purchase which can save you a lot of money if you manage your money right.
At the Watertown Mall last night around 6 PM, line at Best Buy
Me: What would George Bailey say?
Person in crowd: Fuck you and George Bailey!
Merry Christmas!
dvdoff what the hell were you doing there?!?!
I give you more credit than that!
We were driving by and had to stop!
My buddy pulled out his old Judge Smails favorite: "Don't you people have homes?!"
I suspect most people waiting in line
for Black Friday deals have no clue as to who George Bailey is.
Pathetic
Put the drumstick down, kiss grandma goodbye and head to Walmart. Forget Thanksgiving. We are a pathetic materialistic society. Holidays can't hold a candle to our quest to find the ever cheaper bargain. Too bad half these trashy people at Walmart don't realize they wouldn't evrn need to constantly seek cheaper deals if this very store didn't put so many American businesses and employees out of work with its brutal outsourcing.
