The hawk and the rat

Anybody see Ladyhawk divebomb some lucky fan with a rat at Fenway yesterday? One keen-eyed TV watcher reports:
... Just before the Air Force fly-over, the hawk cruises over Fenway with what is obviously a large dead rat in its talons. I think the planes scared it and it was hard to see from the TV view, but the hawk came out of its swoop sans rat. Hence someone got said rat in his or her lap/beverage of choice in the stands. There was a mention of it on WBUR this morning so I know I was not hallucinating. ...

They showed it in slow-mo on
They showed it in slow-mo on Fox 25 this morning. The hawk actually transferred the rat from its beak to one of its claws in one smooth motion, so it looked like the rat was gone, but it had it the whole time.
Besides, after all this, if some lucky fan caught a rat instead of a foul ball in his glove, you think he wouldn't have been all over the local news last night/this morning?
It looks like a mouse.
The Globe has a photo. Looks more mouse-sized than rat-sized.
It looks like dinner
for the hawk ...
I think this is a rat: look at the size of the critter relative to the hawk's wingspan (up to five feet for females).
I wonder if the sudden upsurge in activity at the park created an aerial buffet?
Yeah, rat.
It was a rat. Hawks are large birds. Also, it wasn't during opening of the game, was it? NESN showed the bird in about the 2nd or 3rd inning, immediately after the crowd was reacting to something, which I presumed was its appearance. Nice inaccurate caption there Boston.com!
Yeah, as mentioned above, it
Yeah, as mentioned above, it was pretty clear in HD that the hawk transferred it to his talons...
