Joan Vennochi says Charlie Baker should've gotten mad, not sad, when that fisherman told him he wouldn't let his kids go to college.
Was the tears sincere? Tears were initally shed several years ago.

Adam the NJ scheme
isn't as attention grabbing as the invasion of scary brown people meme offered by the GOP. Ebola = brown people, illegals = brown people, welfare cheats = brown people. Works like a charm.

It has more to due with protecting the LEGAL right to vote. Why should a student from overseas studying here be able to vote in any election.

keep watching Fox and listening to Rush. If young women won't vote republican then they shouldn't be allowed to vote. If blacks and latinos don't vote republican than throw up as many roadblocks as possible to suppress their votes. Within 15 years you're party will go the way of the dinosaur. Because they're paid to. Most of us are just screwing around at work, and don't have Google alerts set up to tell us when we have to go type semi-literate screeds about unrelated political points. There have been several proposals nationwide to allow non-citizens to vote, but they generally have included only Green Card holders. No one has proposed allowing people here illegally to vote. She even mentioned allowing those with documentation to vote.
The question was about local elections. If those cities decide that is what they want to do for a local election (but not other elections), that's up to them... as long as it's within the rules.

How could he not know that his branch of the fishing industry has been dying for decades? The regulations have just postponed the inevitable end. Removing them would precipitate an immediate collapse of the fish population, and then Mr. Family Business would have to take up something else.

Incredibly disappointed by
Incredibly disappointed by Baker's crocodile tears. I think it's pretty damn clear that he could give a rat's ass about New Bedford fishermen and their families. I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he teared up even though I though it seemed over the top, but now the truth has been revealed: it's all an act. He claimed he met the fisherman a week ago, but in reality he 'met' the fisherman years ago and he gave the same fake heartfelt speech back then. If this guy and his family made such an impact on Baker then he would have stayed in contact with him or at least remembered his name! Granted he's a politician and I'm sure they're all guilty of similar antics. However, Baker is taking it too far. When he loses to Coakley, I'm sure he'll be running off to NH to try again up north. This election can't come soon enough!

Why does crying make a guy a sissy? Why would you even use a word that's just short of a slur to describe him? People of all genders have emotions and should cry if something upsets them.
Were his tears real? I don't know. All I know is that I strongly object to men who cry being called a name because of it.

Crying is a natural function, and much like urination, should be done in private. Leaders should be able to hold their emotions/bladders in check and not lose control, especially in public. Crying during a debate is as much an inappropriate outburst as throwing over your podium because you can't properly express anger.

Latest poll is a statistical dead heat, Coakley catching up to Baker (behind 3 points with a poll +/- 4). I guess those fake tears from Baker were about how he is in danger of losing again.
