Oopsies: State gets own link wrong in promoting new Health Connector site
By adamg on Fri, 11/14/2014 - 10:20am
Normally, a typo wouldn't be such a big deal, but when you're talking about the new Web site the state says will fix all the problems in the old, broken Health Connector site at a cost of gazillions, yeah, it kind of is. Also, as Steve Garfield notes, when he pointed out the typo in a state tweet (the URL's missing an "o" in "connector"), the state did, well, nothing.

I noticed the typo too
I have the MA Health Connector tweets set up to come through my phone as alerts on my lock screen so I can keep up with board meetings.
I noticed that typo. If I worked at the Health Connector or Dell (their customer service support and payment systems devleoper) or hCentive or Optum or MassHealth, I would be scared for tomorrow when Open Enrollment begins.
And if I were Dr. Gruber, I'd be hiding in the bunker of a lab somewhere over at MIT.
Don't worry we'll do better
Don't worry we'll do better running a single payer health insurance program in the future.

Suckers
What, me worry?
Saw a headline earlier this week that said Governor Patrick is "optimistic" about the website and the launch tomorrow.
What could go wrong? We're going to be just fine...
Unpossible!
He was live on WBUR yesterday bragging of the sites success.
*Edit: He was Gov. Patrick.
Health Connector tweet
Hi.
Thanks for noticing. We've updated the tweet with the correct URL, which will have our new system up at 8 a.m. tomorrow.
Thanks,

Health Connector
They fixed it.
Hi Adam,
As you can see from the comment here and on my blog, they deleted the tweet and reposted it with a correct link.
The thing that's still not right, as presented at the Board Meeting, is that you won't be able to search for providers on the site until 2015.
That seems like it would be the most important feature to have in there.
What this means is that to figure out if a plan you are considering is the right one, you'll have to go visit the plan site nad search for your doctore over there, for each plan, and then after confirming that you can 'keep your current doctor,' go back to the Health Connector site to complete enrollment.
The Globe and Herald in their reporting on yesterday's board meeting, failed to report that.
A huge deal I think.
Added to the fact that we have not been able to take a look at the site before tomorrow, or see any info on the type of plans that will be offered.
Rolling it all out at 8 AM tomorrow does not seems to be the best plan.
We'll see.
Are you going to blame this
Are you going to blame this on Tom Finneran too, Adam?
Only if you ask nicely.
Only if you ask nicely.
That's Tom "The Felon" Finneran to you
Sorry. It had to be said.
Miss you already, Howie.
