The laptop-stealing house burglar of Cambridgeport is back

Cambridge Police are - again - warning Cambridgeport residents of a guy who likes breaking into houses and apartments via windows during the day to steal laptops and other electronics.

In an alert to residents today, police say the burglar typically looks for cut or unlocked screens, then shimmies into houses between 3 and 6 p.m. Since Dec. 23, laptop guy has hit six houses, on Fairmount Avenue and Fairmont , Granite, Lopez and Prince streets.

In an earlier warning, in October, police posted a photo of a possible suspect.

Police urge residents to install window guards that prevent windows from being raised more than a few inches and to always lock their windows and doors.
