Oh, ouch: A peeved Dorchester citizen complains about conditions on Woodcliff Street:
Please plow my street when Thomas Menino was alive we would have never experienced nothing like this I am so disappointed and I voted for you!! There are seniors in all the houses and nobody cares.
Meanwhile, a Bay Village citizen turns to the classics to express concern about a crossing that is not only unplowed but has snow piled higher than most people's heads:

Menino was alive and in
Menino was alive and in office during the last whopper in 2013 and many side streets were completely untouched by plows. On the 3rd day my neighbors took to the street with shovels and had nearly finished clearing by hand when a front loader finally showed up. It wasn't just my street. There were others on the news.
Enough!
We just had a major snow storm that dumped two feet of snow in the City of Boston, crews are working around the clock plowing out streets, I can understand if they miss a street and you can call the city to let them know. But it's quite another thing if you start making it personal or how the city is incompetent in snow removal or the city doesn't give a flying (bleep) about you just a 3 days after a major storm.
If there is an issue call the city, or Twitter the city and let them know, there is no need in making it a personal matter as if the world is against you.
Not plowed yet piled high?
street wasn't plowed yet is piled high? A bit dramatic don't you think? 2 years ago there were sections of the city that were impassable. 30 years ago the city was paralyized for weeks. Give me a break and go back to demanding more bike lanes.

You're right, this was Marty's big conspiracy to punish people on your street for not voting for him. He is sitting in the Boston bunker right now telling plow drivers to avoid your street.
The amount of whining today is ridiculous. Someone was complaining the snow wasn't pushed close enough to the curb....well, where the hell are the plows supposed to push it? On to the sidewalk??
Many drivers would be fine
Many drivers would be fine with the snow being plowed onto sidewalks. Enough of them throw the snow from their car onto the sidewalk already. And when the snow has long since melted the garbage they used as space savers will still be lying there.

On my morning walk, overhead
On my morning walk, overhead a man loudly proclaiming that Marty Walsh is morally corrupt for putting too much salt on the roads and he should be impeached... which then of course progressed to raging about obamacare. Okay, buddy! Too early in the morning for yelling and ranting. While not every intersection is passable for pedestrians in my neighborhood, it's not too bad.
Salt
Many a day driving on Savin Hill Ave I wonder either the Commissioner of the DPW or the road salt salesman must live here. You can tell by the 2-3 inches of salt from curb to curb.

I submitted that complaint- as far as I know, this ought to be the city's responsibility as the Ben Franklin school abuts this sidewalk. Just found it humerous that they don't hesitate to tell us residents to clear our sidewalks etc, but can't be bothered to clear (presumably) their own. Will they ticket themselves? :-)
You live on
a dead end side street... but should get highest priority when half of the downtown isn't even cleared? Okay buddy
And to add to the above sentiment, in 2013 hizhonna completely ignored my street, after a few days we had to shovel it by hand. Big storms are big storms, be happy you have power.
The person you're commenting
The person you're commenting on submitted the complaint from Bay Village, about Berkeley and Tremont's sidewalk outside a BPS school. It's not the complaint from the elderly on the dead end.
Also saying that the parking spots downtown haven't been shoveled out yet means "half of downtown" isn't done yet is a far cry from a street being made at least passable for residents and emergency access.
Transparency, open government
http://data.cityofboston.gov didn't feature the Button "Suggest a Dataset" for folks interested in suggesting data to be added. The notion of transparency, open government didn't pan out with the new administration yet. Access to review data related to civic concerns is a part of civic participation.
Snow
Ha, it's kind of funny, when Tom was in office my streets were never plowed. I think Marty is doing a fine job and I will vote for him again. Please remember it's snow not the apocalypse.
Snow removal this morning Cambridge St
This is sort of amazing. I know if 2011 the snow just sat there.
Anyway, having parts of Cambridge St down to one lane has contributed to area traffic jams and the morning something is actually being done about it.

Great job done by all who worked on the snow emerggency. The plowing is 100times better than 2years ago. If you have a problem with it contact the mayors 24hour hotline and it will be taken care of promptly.
