What did the MBTA do with the
What did the MBTA do with the day yesterday? Did they release any accounting of what work was done? How is it that so many rail right of ways are still not cleared? Makes no sense than the Braintree line is still down after the preemptive weekend shutdown and yesterday's closure.
They brought a lot of cars
They brought a lot of cars into the tunnels so they could thaw out The biggest problem they are having are damaged motors. Even once the tracks are clear "normal" service won't resume until they are able to catch up on the backlog of out of service cars.
Saw that this morning
Saw it wasn't plowed this morning. So it hasn't been touched all day.
Would have been helpful yesterday if Dr. Scott had given some detail about what actions are being taken to help get the T back to normal, instead of going on about the T's problems, which those of us who ride it already know about. For instance, why is a single train running in and out of Oak Grove and Wellington? I would just be interested in the reasoning.
I don't blame her for the T's problems, but her idea of communication and the specifics that a T rider wants to hear are miles apart.
Single train is using
the plowed inbound track between Wellington and Oak Grove. In theory, they could run more than one train on this track. However, because the signaling on the Orange Line tracks is not bi-directional, there are a bunch of operational issues when you attempt to run multiple trains in an adverse direction.
Just got an alert from Keolis that they plan on operating a full service schedule tomorrow.
They were barely able to run the "limited schedule" this morning, so it'll be interesting to see what actually happens.

I don't actually see how that can be done, given that each train has to change ends at Oak Grove (there's no loop).

Of course, if both sides of the station at Oak Grove (and the crossovers entering the station) are properly cleared, you could run two trains on a "one arrives, the other leaves" type sequence. It would still be a painfully slow operation though.

Outbound track STILL not totally plowed out as of 8:35 Thursday morning. WTF!
