Man gets seven years for fatal stabbing under the Southeast Expressway
Christopher Powell, 41, of Everett, pleaded guilty to manslaughter today for the stabbing death of Corey Thompson in a fight in the area of Traveler and Albany streets under I-93 on Feb. 25, 2013, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
Powell, who stabbed Thompson eight times with a pocketknife, had been scheduled for trial next week for second-degree murder, the DA's office says. State troopers who investigated the crime recovered surveillance video showing:
Powell, Thompson, and another man arguing near Thompson’s car in the area of East Berkeley Street near the I-93 Overpass in the South End. Witnesses variously recounted hearing the men arguing about money and seeing Thompson chasing Powell along Harrison Avenue.
The pursuit ended in the area of Traveler and Albany streets, where Thompson caught up with Powell and beat him. There, the evidence would have shown, Powell pulled out a pocketknife with a three-inch blade and stabbed Thompson repeatedly before fleeing over a chain link fence.

And
And in a related story, 83 South End realtors just simultaneously shat themselves when they realized word might get out that that ink block/whole foods/formerly Herald area is, in fact, a dangerous craphole.
7 years?
A murderer gets 7 years. That's what our system has come to.
Might have something to do with this
The guy was chasing him and beat him up before the knife came out.
