No, seriously, get a room; you're grossing out the other people on that Orange Line platform.

What is that, the Downtown Crossing stop?
Pffft, amateurs. Everyone knows that the Mass Ave stop is the most romantic on the Orange Line.
I think it's the Oak Grove
I think it's the Oak Grove platform at State. DTX has round metal column covers.
State St
In the comments below the photo, she identifies the station as State St. Judging by the time stamps this happened around 9 last night.
He'll be caught soon enough
The T may not be able to function in the winter and you can hear Orange Line trains corroding, but they have a state-of-the-art surveillance system, and with another clue that she provided in the comments, coupled with the records the CharlieCard system keeps, I'm thinking it won't be long now ...
How about 911
you know, you shouldn't be tweeting, emailing, or facebooking Transit Police if you want assistance. Most folks call 911.
Yes!
I don't think people understand 911. I asked Captain John Greeland (South Boston) personally, what to do when you see a parking violation. He told me to call 911!!!
CALL 911
Not 911 on the T, though
They have some other system - oh, the joys of a multi-jurisdictional city!
The 911 dispatcher would
The 911 dispatcher would have likely redirected the caller straight to MBTA TPD's 617-222-1212. Extra step, but a response still would have happened.
Yes but
the woman says somewhere in the comments that she tried to contact the MBTA or MBTA police, and no one got back to her. She may have contacted the wrong department, but it's not like there was a lack of trying...and trying to find those contact numbers on a website that may or may not be mobile-compatible can be tough while under duress.
If she called 911 from a cell phone, she would have been directed to the State Police, then Boston 911, then the Transit Police, which would have taken some extra time.
she says she tweeted them
The MBTA police have a mobile app and they typically respond within a few minutes, tops, to a report.
is mbta on facebook?
the page I was linked to was facebook. MBTA police has always gotten right back to me, if I mentioned them in a tweet about a crime. Once, I was on a bus that rear ended a cab. While the busdriver was checking the health of all the customers, the cab ran away.
Ran away?
I'm now picturing a Transformer cab.
What if you were in the woman
What if you were in the woman's shoes who took the photo? If he could hear you call 911 and hear you narc on him, would you still show so much bravado?
I'm not saying there aren't alternatives to the situation I hypothesized. I just think we shouldn't be so restrictive as to only expect to receive requests for police service via 911 in the 21st century.
I'm thinking of the domino's case where the domestic violence hostage sent a note in with her electronic pizza order, "being held hostage", or something to that effect. That message probably saved her from a gruesome domestic violence related homicide.
try this on for size
Take picture, walk down the platform so you're out of earshot, call 911.
Thanks, did try on for size
Thanks, did try on for size the second I saw the photo and Facebook caption. Then, I thought of a reason why people hesitate to call 911, and when alternatives could be crucial.
You must have missed the part where I wrote "I'm not saying there aren't alternatives to the situation I hypothesized." Not all people behave the same under pressure, or rationally.
Because I wasn't there or in the photographer's state of mind, I decided not to believe that I must know better than her.
I guess you and I have different points of view.
Or use the See Say app
Allows you to file a report without calling attention to yourself.

These people were otherwise occupied, but there are cases when you don't want to let the person know you're calling TPD.
911?
Doesn't that involve the PHONE part of my smart phone? You know, the part I never use because I was born after 1985?
People! Don't click on the link!
I can't unsee what I saw.
Sex?
ON THE INTERNET??
Let me put it to you this way
Some of us work on the weekend.
oh sorry
i dont associate with poors
Lol, my sympathy to you,
Lol, my sympathy to you, Waquiot.

What would have been really disgusting
was if the person squatting were instead kneeling on that filthy floor.
PSA for the younger generation
Texting and tweeting is not how to get a response from the police or the transit police. Call 911 in an emergency.
Everyone by now should know
Agreed, but probably the MBTA Transit Police would have sufficed.
Everyone by now should know "We rely on yoah eyes, yoah eahs, and yoah infahmation to protect us all, so If you see something, say something. Call the MBTA Transit Police at 617-222-1212 and thank you fah riding the T."
The See Say app is the best
I've reported unusual situations with the See Say app and the Transit Police are really quick to respond. If you're going to text, might as well text the police directly.

Why would someone's reaction
Why would someone's reaction to seeing that be to take a picture?
For Proof
Anyone can say they saw some loser getting a bj from some skank at a T station and some folks might believe the story. But this proves that it actually happened. Plus, it shames the T. So that's always a plus, too.
Are there a lot of people
Are there a lot of people "bragging" they saw a bj on the train platform, what kind of friends do they have that would be impressed but only with proof.
The picture is good for
The picture is good for authorities to help ID them, but it shouldn't have been the sole means of communication. A verbal phone call is needed to supplement with info.
It's a PUBLIC TRANSPORT
It's a PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM! Not a PUBIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM!
Risky Business
I wonder if they were trying to re-enact the subway sex scene from Risky Business....
nope...
...that scene took place on the train, not on the platform. So if they were trying to re-enact that scene, they weren't doing it very well. ;-)
I wonder what gets a quicker response by the Transit Police
Car 54 a man has been stabbed at Downtown Crossing or a female giving oral sex at State street?
Pfffl
On the NY subway folks who can't or won't wait to go home or visit a by the hour hotel don't stop at oral sex or limit themselves to subway stations.
A large trench coat, a bumpy subway ride and presto-chango the two backed beast.
Though I imagine this is not exactly the first time that two folks decided to commandeer a subway station for intimate enjoyment. Perhaps they are looking for a way to fulfill their destinies as nominees for the Darwin award?. I can only hope that save for an act of God these two don't produce replacements who are equally self-centered as to have sex on a public subway! Don't they know about the Fens for Pete's sake?
You won't believe what I saw on the subway today!
It was disgusting! I was so grossed out by it that I posted a picture of it for the entire internet to see too!
My bad for not tweeting this
My bad for not tweeting this to the cops. I can't be everywhere.
Whelp.
I ran into my bathroom after seeing this. Whelp.
