Didn't someone try to put a nightclub right there a few years back and get all sorts of grief from the few people who actually own in that area? Did they actually succeed?
That club brings some much needed life to a deserted, post industrial area.
Most of the nights there are frequented by middle aged Russians and retirees who party to some Soviet themed nostalgia events. Not exactly the stabbing types, so i wonder if this is even related to that place or are sat nights events different?
Deserted post industrial area? It's one former factory building in a dense residential neighborhood. We don't need a nightclub down the street for "much needed life."
For the record, the crowd we saw arriving there last night as we headed out to an event elsewhere certainly didn't look particularly stabby, but they were neither middle aged and retirees nor Russian.
We actually need that fire to spread from Packard's Corner to Kenmore, a plague to wipe out any current and future BU students, and for the city to take back the neighborhood and build-able land for tax paying residents.
While I agree that these comments are tasteless and inappropriate, and I resent the suggestion that the neighborhood that I've lived in for nearly 60 years should be razed, I'm wondering where you came up with "[s]tudents die in house fires in that area nearly every year." Binland Lee died in a fire on the other end of Linden Street in 2013. Josh Goldenberg was severely injured in another fire in the same block the year before that. There have been several other fires in the neighborhood in the past few years, but I don't know of any other deaths, student or otherwise. Please refresh my memory.
From what I can tell, it's attached to and owned by the owners of Crystal, so yes, Garage is Crystal just as much as Lone Star is Deep Ellum or Sunset Cantina and Patron's are Sunset Grill.
According to D-14 this was an altercation between two groups who had had problems in the past who happened to run into eachother in this area. One group had been drinking and the other hadn't, when the group who had been drinking tried to start an altercation the other group tried to leave the situation. A man from the drunk group hit someone with the bottle and then there was a bit of a chase in the area that ended with someone in the "victim" group being stabbed. Supposedly that person is now in stable condition

Actually
Having lived on the corner of Gardner and Chester for several years, what that area needs is a nice, purging fire followed by an EPA cleanup.
