Why do we need fare machines that aren't fair? Fifty percent of us pay for the other fifty percent that waltz right in through the fare gates without paying.

I couldn't buy a pass with a visa card from any vending machine, neither credit or debit. Finally got one at Star Market. Got error message saying something like 'this card not accepted, please use an accepted card'.

smh.

I'm curious in a situation like this how they handle people who need to reload their cards or buy tickets and don't have any cash. I've had bus drivers let me ride for free when the farebox wasn't accepting cash, but most stations aren't even attended so that's not really an option. Makes me wonder if they lost any ridership over this.
