Of course Cambridge has a Bernie Guy
By adamg on Fri, 09/25/2015 - 10:48am
Ari Ofsevit ran into the Bernie Guy - with his sign done in a local font, natch - yesterday. He reports that if you take a picture of him, he smiles and yells "Bernie!"
Lesley reports:
He's been around Central Sq for the past few weeks just holding that sign proudly by himself.

Feel the Bern in person next weekend
Bernie is having a rally at the BCEC next Saturday night. I am wicked curious to see what it's like. I hope it'll be fun and exciting. I wonder how many people will show up.
Note: I am not affiliated with the Bernie Sanders campaign in any way. I don't even know if I'll vote for the guy. I want to go for the spectacle of it all.

Thanks for this. I didn't realize he was coming to town.
I'm going!
And pretty excited although I don't think he has a shot at winning. More just want to show up to provide another body there for the numbers to show that there are a lot of folks who agree with his platform. Also, because I've never seen an honest politician in person, and I don't know if I'll ever have the chance again.

Both the Elephants and the Jackasses suck unless you yourself are an actual politician or merely a citizen lacking in the critical thinking skills department.
What? haha
Im a democrat and would never vote for this guy. He's a self proclaimed socialist, not to mention that voice.....
Just because someone isn't on the fringe of a party doesn't make them a republican, if anything it makes them a little more rational than the wackos on both sides of the spectrum.

I wish I could like this 1000 times. It needs to be said - often.
Not a socialism lover?
Than you might want to consider not applying for Social Security and/or Medicare (and if you already get those socialism-like benefits, better drop 'em.)
I work my ass off
And will never get back what I put in. So ya take them, and I'll keep my hard earned cash.

What's wrong with being a self-proclaimed socialist? How is advocating policis that are pretty much centrist for large amounts of western and northern Europe make someone "fringe"?
I really don't understand why this country has such an aversion to the word "socialist", as if it's somehow equivalently bad as something like "fascist", and thus best used to describe the "fringe" elements of a party.
Most of his policies....
... would have sounded very middle pf the road back in the Eisenhower era. We've shifted FAR to the right om economic justice/equality issues since then.

For Bernie. What a shocker!

White white white
There is something disingenuous about the left throwing their support begins Sanders. The left wing constantly moans about white people. Yet for President they'd throw their support behind a white man from the whitest least urban state in the U.S. Sanders doesn't even have any minority constituents.
