THANK YOU so much to all the protestors and for those who were willing to get arrested today. This is about the danger of this particular pipeline in this particular situation, BUT there is also so much more to the whole rush to build NEW infrastructure in the Northeast.

I care deeply about Spectra Energy's national record of violations and accidents because I live only 2 blocks from the proposed above-ground metering station being protested here. But I also care about the fact that for TWO years the media has been passing along the industry fabrication that we MUST increase pipeline capacity to avoid price spikes and supply shortages. This is just a manipulative cover for the real goal, which is to get "cheap" Marcellus Shale fracked gas out to export harbors in Canada and Maine to sell to higher-paying markets in Europe and Asia. And just last week, despite much opposition, Gov. Baker got approval from the DPU to add on a NEW kind of a gas tariff to ratepayers, so WE get to pay for that highway to "windfall profits" (see their own websites) for the fossil fuel corporations. Yuck.

And thank you to WBUR for being there today to cover this story. Beyond the local newspapers, who've been doing a great job, the mainstream media is just NOW starting to cover this major story happening basically the same in communities ALL OVER the Northeast (as well as the whole country).

And thank you protesters for our higher than average natural gas prices in New England. I love paying 50% more for heat and electricity because of the NIMBY's of Westie and Dedham.

I can keep going, but I think you get the idea. I guess this is case in point of the vocal minority having the loudest voice.

There are gas leaks in this city that have been leaking for 20 years and the companies have the gall to say there's not enough supply?
