Guess it's a good thing we hadn't voted yet
PolitickerMA is reporting that this mailer from incumbent Governor's Councilor Kelly Timilty (my governor's councilor) has a forged endorsement from Gov. Patrick.
Sources close to the governor told PolitickerMA.com that the statement did not come from Patrick and the signature at the bottom of the mailing is forged.
Oh, you mean this signature?
Timilty is running for re-election (remind me again why this job is even elected anymore, somebody?) in District 2 against Robert Jubinville of Milton, about whom I know absolutely nothing except that he's a lawyer and has white hair, which I gleaned from the roughly 47,000 palm cards his campaign has sent to our house over the past few weeks. But at least he didn't forge anybody's endorsement on them.

sources close to the Governor say Brett is Awesome

Sooooo, let's get this straight. Someone who is refusing to give their name, with an unknown connection or official capacity, or knowledge of whether or not this actually is true...
Why can't a spokesdroid confirm this officially? Printing the gov's signature on something he didn't approve seems like a pretty big no-no, one he'd be happy to confirm.
Color me sliiiiightly suspicious...
At least she didn't throw a curling iron at anyone
,
But Does She Help People?
And then, after losing a State Senate primary, conveniently make herself very scarce before one of her Sheriff buddies conscripts her for his bus-and-truck tour to bring desperately-needed aid to Katrina ravaged areas?
That's exactly what Governor's Councillor Michael "He helps people!" Callahan did. I guess DiPaola's rescue mission just wasn't the sort of helping people he had in mind when he printed those signs.
Just confirmed by Patrick
An "error" ? A "mistake" ?? WTF
From Boston.com: Patrick says Gov Council candidate forged his signature
I don't think the words "error" and "mistake" mean what Timilty thinks they mean.
Perhaps the "works hard every day" part
Since she apparently only bothers to turn up at the meetings on occasion, maybe that was the "error or mistake"?
Otherwise, I think the words "fraudulent use of the Governor's signature" is a more appropriate description.
Wouldn't surprise me if there is some law on the MA books written in Merry Olde English in 1700 something that proscribes this sort of fraud upon the Governor's Office and recommends no less than twenty lashes and the stocks for two days.
twenty lashes and the stocks for two days
That would be fun! It'd give me a good reason to go into town and make an evening of it. After mocking the cheater and shunning her (no more than 15 minutes total) I'd head over to Chinatown for roast duck wanton soup with yellow noodles and pea pod stems in garlic sauce.
And yes, I'm totally with you on the "fraudulent use of the Governor's signature" and since it was sent through the US Mail, "mail fraud".
challenge the election?
Does the challenger Robert Jubinville of Milton have reasonable cause to contest the election based on his opponent's mail fraud? and forgery?
If I were Robert Jubinville, I'd write the Secretary of State to lodge a formal complaint, cc: the District Attorney, and have it hand delivered tomorrow morning.
At least one vote for Jubinville
Just got back from voting. Unlike at Holy Name, where there were a gazillion poll workers (all, naturally, breaking that law requiring them to stand at least 150 feet from the entrance), there was just one guy breaking the 150-foot law - a Timilty worker. I waved him away ...
Govs Council is kind of a BS
Govs Council is kind of a BS thing anyway, I dotn even really see the use in it. We could just as effectivly have a state rep delegation get chosen by their piers to sit on this board once a week and make these mundane appointments.
Which pier should they sit on?
I guess Commonwealth Pier would be the most logical choice.
Anthony's?
Cause if they met at NoName's they wouldn't have anybody to nominate.
You'd think a politician
You'd think a politician named Timilty would be above reproach.
The 2009 Mayor of Roslindale
The 2009 Mayor of Roslindale contest winner Joseph Wells I hear is running. The 33 year old is currently a Sergeant for the Simmons College Police Department. He was the officer who recently found Jeffrey Cooper the 14-year-old autistic boy who had been missing.
