H-Block members charged with execution-style murder in a Mission Hill parking lot
Luis Bodden-Maximo and his girlfriend had just sat down for lunch at the Brigham Circle TGI Friday's on Sept. 16 when trouble walked in the door - in the form of an H-Block gang member with hoodie pulled over his head, who rushed into the restaurant and stared at him, then ran out.
Bodden-Maximo told his girlfriend the guy was H-Block and they had to leave, Assistant Suffolk County District Attorney Craig Iannini said this morning in West Roxbury Municipal Court. The couple rushed out and up the stairs to the parking lot behind the restaurant and her car. She got in the driver's seat and he was just getting into the passenger seat when another H-Block member showed up and confronted him, Iannini said.
Bodden-Maximo ran, but didn't get far, Iannini said: The man fired his .40-caliber gun 17 times, fatally wounding Bodden-Maximo and leaving the parking lot littered with shell casings.
The two alleged H-Block members, Javier Smith, 19, of Roxbury, and Jerome Meade, 21, of Lynn, were arraigned this morning in West Roxbury Municipal Court on murder charges. Judge Kathleen Coffeey ordered them held without bail. A third alleged H-Block member, Lee Gill, 21, of Natick, who allegedly drove the other two to the scene in his mother's Jeep, is scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon. He also faces a murder charge. The gang is named for the area north of Franklin Park, where many of the street names begin with an H.
Iannini told Coffey and a courtroom in which members of Bodden-Maximo's family tried to hold back tears that the murder was captured on surveillance video and that cell-phone data puts the pair at the scene. He did not divulge a possible motive for H-Block to go after Boden-Maximo, whose mother has said was trying to escape the street.
On Sept. 25, Meadee was arrested on an unrelated firearms charge; Iannini said his phone, which was seized, had a photo from the day before the murder showing him wearing the same clothes as the day of the shooting - as well photos of him with guns, including a .40-caliber firearm. He added investigators gleaned additional incriminating information from Gill's Twitter feed and YouTube channel.
Meadee, who smirked as he entered the prisoner's dock and looked around the courtroom, had a brief interchange with Coffey. "And you, sir, you are Mr. Meadee?" she asked. "Yeah," he replied. "Excuse me?" the judge answered. "Yes," he said this time.
Neither Meadee's nor Smith's lawyers attempted to have bail lowered.
Innocent, etc.

Wow
This is the best reporting that's come out about this story. Thanks.
And the story is just heartbreaking.
Not really, if you associate
Not really, if you associate with a gang you are endangering yourself and those around you. This guy had a history of violence. I'm just glad nobody innocent was hurt in the crossfire. Seems like these guys are always 'trying to get out'.
This might come as a surprise
This might come as a surprise, but some people do try to turn their lives around.
In fact, everyone seems to
In fact, everyone seems to have been 'turning their lives around' when they get shot. Funny how only those turning to the light get shot, and the unrepentant bad guys live on forever.
It doesn't matter what he was
It doesn't matter what he was known for that's still sometimes child and he didn't deserve to go out that way. Watch what you type.
English please?
Are you saying our standard issue aspiring rapper turning his life around was someone's child, or he was still sometimes a child?
Wow
Rap is probably the most complex and intellectual genre of music. Kid must've been pretty bright if he is an aspiring rapper. I guess you weren't an English guru in school, or else you wouldn't sound so stupid.
Tell that
to the "bitches & ho's".
street shit
Thats just the way it goes in the inner city u live somewhere your associated with your street / neighbor hood . even if your not a gang member you still get put in theses situations because of where and how you travel . you takes the MBTA you go through some one elses hood Roxbury , Mattapan , J.P. dorchester , Southie . Its been like this since i can remember , still hurts to lose ten of your D.Y.S. kids in one year . Gang unit needs to do a better job of being proactive versus reactive . Dont get me wrong i see the works being done but its not enough and it wont be until theirs peace on the streets. I love all yall lil niccas yall need to love the world your in b4 you out of it !
You got to be kidding me! Do
You got to be kidding me! Do you know him or his story? Who are you to say you're happy that no one innocent got hurt? These cowards took a young man's life, no one deserves that. PERIOD! Your comment is sickening...I hope you rot in hell with those idiots who will be spending the rest of their lives in prison.
Sorry, but
That poor innocent victim was in fact a drug-dealing thug - good riddance if you ask me.
Idiot
You don't even know this man. Or the life he lived. I guess your god tho and can judge people without knowing them.
Well
I do know he was in jail for drug dealing and he got shot in a public place execution style, which is normally reserved for high-ranking gangbangers. That paints a pretty good picture of who he was.
cannot understand why people like you exist
Maybe you should've been that "innocent victim" instead of this young man. Whether he was into the streets or not he's still a human being he did not deserve to be killed like an animal....... As well as the same for my brother whom I lost to gun violence. As ha person still reliving that moment you have no right to judge
Really?
He had a mother and father who loved him. He was a human being. We have become so desensitized by the madness. No one deserves to die like that.
The keyboard warrior
may suffer karma.
Heartless Demon
Your a pathetic excuse for a human, despite his lifestyle and I'm not condone it; he still was someone child, brother, uncle and friend. You say these heartless cowardly things because your anonymous, speaks volumes about you. GET A LIFE COWARD.
Coward?
I don't know about you, but I am in fact afraid of drug-dealing, gun-toting thugs who place no value on human life, I suppose that does make me a coward. We now have two of those characters off the streets - one permanently, and another one (hopefully) for a good long while. How is that a bad thing?
Hey hoodrats
Twitter? Really? Al Capone didn't use Twitter. Whitey Bulger didn't use Twitter. John Gotti didn't use Twitter. Do you think they became high-level gangsters by sharing their feelings and making videos?
thats because those things
thats because those things didnt exist?
I mean Bulger and Gotti lived in the time of video
But okay.
Fail to see your point
Okay, video has been around for 100 years...how about the internet? YouTube? Twitter? iPhones?
Different culture, different technology, different people. There have been plenty of stupid "gangsters" in history, these fools are no different.
The bigger thing is they didn
The bigger thing is they didn't talk on the phone/wire taps.
If you are committing felonies why the fuck are you any evidence, let alone videos o_O ?
Now I have this mental image
of Bulger and Gotti doing hits in a back alley with one of those giant VHS shoulder-held camcorders with the glaring light attachment.
"Nuttin to see here, nope nuttin at all."
"AAAH HELP ME"
"Naw we's just videotaping nuttin, that's all."
Nixon

OK, so we know you're not a gang member
And not likely to have much interaction with any. In fact, gangs have proven quite adept at using social media to spread their messages - same as bullies know they can inflict as much harm online as they could the old fashioned way. The Columbia Point Dawgs were particularly good at integrating rap videos with threats and taunts.
I think you're making his point for him
Although that link just points back to this page, I would infer that whatever evidence you're bringing up on the Columbia Point Dawgs would serve to reinforce Mr. LaTulippe's thinly veiled point that modern-day black gangsters could never be smart enough to measure up to the esteemed white organized criminals of days past.
Stupidity
Ok I'm sure you've never heard of the Black Mafia from Philly. Was under the radar for so long because whites couldn't believe black ppl could organize such a group. White mafias were afraid of BM. This isn't a black or white thing. Innocent kids losing their lives to prison or death. This young man has done a lot all I can say is what goes around comes around. You live by the gun you die by the gun, can't do to others & think I'll change my life and nothing's going to happen to you. In that case move. Working with these young men & women all I can suggest is for parents to have these conversations and BE IN YOUR CHILDS LIFE. I can speak for self my siblings and I were raised by parents who were still in the streets. I was fortunate to make positive change but I can't say same for my brothers.....
Well, don't discourage them.
Well, don't discourage them. I wish more of them would be that stupid.
"Meade, who smirked as he entered the prisoner's dock"
Am I the only one who got a bit irked when reading that?
No...
I was too. And was glad to read the judge called him out on his smugness.
When Bubba bends him
over out at Walpole he won't be smirking.
Thanks BPD
I'm from near the area. It's a shame that as minorities of a young age, they engulf themselves in the life of crime. Brilliant job to the undervalued youth gang task force of the BPD who dedicate their times (and lives) to help prevent this scourge from hitting communities
One good reason
to stay the f away from TGI Fridays in Brigham Circle.
This is why we can't have nice things too close to a hood.
Melodramatic much?
Have you been to Centre Street in JP where they had that double murder in the pizza place a few years back? Seems busy as ever. Murder is horrible, but one case doesn't mean Brigham Circle is some sort of seething hellhole.
"Nice things..."
No longer moved to comment on such an ignorant remark considering shootings take place everywhere....so I will just comment on the fact that u consider "nice things" a Fridays restaurant...lol
Still Smirking?
Check back with him after he has served about 30 years of his life without parole sentence.
Would like to hear your dumb
Would like to hear your dumb ass remark if that was your kid
Thanks for defending the alleged
murderer.
Jerome Meade is vile. I'm
Jerome Meade is vile. I'm glad he's off the streets. Trust me, this city just got a lot safer with him removed from it.
- local cop
Why
Did it take a murder to finally lock him up? Did he get JudgeDouganed every time you lads picked him up?
He has been locked up on
He has been locked up on multiple firearms and released. Blame the laws and judges that release these criminals back into society. We can only do so much.
You cops carry this vengeance
You cops carry this vengeance thing all the way dont you? I could say alot more but you would probably continue to target and build false evidence against my son Jerome Meade... He is innocent but Im sure you will find a way to make him look guilty.
Just sad a kid had to die to
Just sad a kid had to die to make it happen, but that is the way of these things
cop ?
Shouldn't you be out getting more off the street instead of sitting online .....don't get to excited there's still plenty of homicides you guys have yet to solve and shootings still occurring right under your nose
So,
when is BPD going to cite the restaurant and force them to appear before the Licensing Board? After all, the H-Block member did enter the premises first.
Oh wait, they only reserve that tactic for times when they can't find the perps behind the actual crime.
BPD, good work.
BPD, good work.
Seriously.
Don't let this troll and his comment take away from the fact that some of us respect the work you did here. Please keep it up!
How about for once saying
How about for once saying thanks to the people who protect you, and leaving that ridiculous argument for relevant posts?
"Protect"?
"Protect"?
This story is another good example of how the cops just come along to clean up the mess after the fact.
So this guy was already out
So this guy was already out walking around with a firearms charge when they picked him up for the murder. Sounds like a nice fella.
Meade, who smirked as he
Thorny: Are you okay?
College Boy 2: Yeah, sure.
Thorny: Yes sir?
College Boy 2: Yes sir.
Thorny: No, did you say "yes sir."?
Rabbit: I think he said "yeah, sure."
College Boy 1: What'd you say man?
College Boy 2: When I said, "yeah, sure", but what... literally what I said was "yeah, sure, sir."
Thorny: So you are okay then?
College Boy 2: Yes sir.
[sounds like "yeah sure"]
Hoodie
It's not clear from the story why the hoodie detail is relevant.
could we not say
?
The relevance
Sorry for leaving that out. It wasn't that he was wearing a hoodie per se, but that he rushed into the restaurant with the hood up over his head. Given that it was a warm, rainless day, that was unusual. I've (hopefully) made that clearer in the original post.
Don't feed the trolololos
Don't feed the trolololos
Also relates to no hoodie policies
Stores that refuse service to anyone wearing a hood do so for similar reason. The purpose of the hood is to hide identify. If there is a seeming relationship between wearing hoods when they are not appropriate and gangbangers and wannabes then it might be due to the existence of the relationship. Gangbangers don't wish to be caught.
I've wondered why young people who - I'm guessing are not about to committ a crime - wear a hood when the weather does not require it. Perhaps to adopt the clothing that is worn by violent gang criminals because, in spite of their violence, they are perversely romanticized. Just as Al Capone and mafia have been romanticized. A strange inclination to romanticize the people who steal, maim and kill. At least until a person is a victim or related to a victim of the violence of a gang member.
It is, however, easy to go overboard
Which is why the question about why I mentioned the hoodie in the first place was a good one. My daughter is a regular hoodie wearer, but I suspect nobody's going to cast a wary eye on her, even aside from the fact that one of her hoodies has "Cape Cod" written on it in cranberry red.
It's not
No one's going to bat an eyelash over a well-fitting hoodie that doesn't completely obscure the face and isn't loose enough to conceal a weapon. A giant oversized dark hoodie that completely hides the wearer's face and makes estimating his height and body type next to impossible, on the other hand, is a completely different story.
*eyeroll*
My autistic kids wear large hoodies all year round, often with the hoods up over their ears and shielding their eyes when somewhere loud and stimulating like a restaurant. Some people with schizophrenia do this too. I can see that it might be a reason to notice someone and wonder what's going on with them (as long as you aren't bothering them based solely on this), but I don't agree with policies refusing entrance to people who wear their hoods up.
At the arraignment the DA
At the arraignment the DA mentioned that the suspects phones were seized and search warrants were obtained by BPD. The searches of the phones revealed pictures of the shooter wearing the same hoodie as the day in question. It was a piece of evidence not a stereotype.
h-block
these guys live in lynn and natick? aren't h-block members usually residents of boston? kinda scary to see the cast of characters arriving from other towns in moms suv?
rip kid
uhub 1/12/13
Huh?
You do know that to get from Humboldt to Bromley-Heath you have to go by both Academy Homes I & II?
He was a son
I know his family, and they are wonderful people who doesn't deserve the pain that they have had to endure. His parents are hard working people, and not at all what is stereotypocally thought of the parents of a child who is lost to gun violence. Many of our children come from good upbringings, but what a web of traps these young men have to face just to survive in these neighborhoods. For people who live in the comforts of their ignorant bliss and privilege, thanks for the equally ignorant comment. RIP Louis. I KNOW FIRST HAND HOW MUCH YOU WERE LOVED.
just sad
My heart goes out to this young mans family. But here the thing some people are missing this young man sold drugs so he had to be in the streets to do so and parents do not no every thing there child does or is involved in.it's great he tried to turn his life around but sometimes its to late and your past will catch up to u did he deserve to die no but even selling drugs u can lill some one they can have a nad hit or heartache or overdose does that make him better than his killer no it just means gind are more of a threat than guns i hope this young youth understands when u live this life not only are you putting your life in danger but your family and children.
smith wearing a hoodie..
Smiths hoodie isn't enough relevancy . If he isn't being accused of killing this young man he's absolutely innocent. I didn't read not one positive thing about Smith or Meade. Great person I know him personally. I would hate to say this was a good thing to happen but being gang related has its troubles. The young man killed wasn't an angel himself may we speak on his bad doings ? Arrests/ criminal history ? While smith on the other hand has NONE !
