(But I am not in his district) Because I think he is doing an excellent job using the pulpit to point out problems that should have simple solutions- like this one. And the issue of the VA health system not talking to the MA prescription drug database because one uses licenses and one uses social security numbers.

Keep up the good work.
And happy birthday to the Marines among us.

The opposite of this is being told every 30 seconds. And that is equally as terrible. :(

Wonder how long the wait really was.

...because "there's another train directly behind us"

I love that announcement. Like there could be anything else besides another train directly behind it.

I suppose there could be a gaping lot of nothingness as they take the trains down to the other end of the line and melt them down and re-smelt them and make entirely new trains. Or they take them all out of service because they got snow on 'em. Or something.

they're just telling you "we'll be moving shortly" over and over. Not getting any info is maddening.

If they deign to tell riders anything, it's typically useless filler like that or some sort of CYA lie. Or it's their canned security messages scolding people to "see something, say something" or get out of the "priority" seating. Personally I wish the trains didn't even have the bloody intercoms.

I've had plenty of conductors inform us of traffic, signal problems, etc. It's nice to hear what the issue was. There was another time when the conductor was groaning with us passengers through the intercom: "Oh my goodness I have no idea what is taking them so long up there." We passengers collectively laughed along with hers, and our, frustration.

On another note, the CYA lies are usually because they realize they are in no-win situations. People will ALWAYS (x infinity) find a reason to be upset or think the T is completely useless/incompetent.

That's if you can understand what they are saying! The speakers at Back Bay for the CR are terrible; it's like the teacher in the Peanuts cartoons.

to hear an announcement than people sitting in the House of Representatives when a congressman delivers a speech, from what I've seen on CSPAN.

"It came as a surprise to us in Delaware that Joe Biden recently had a meal and talked with patrons at Katie's Restaurant on Union Street in Wilmington. Katie's Restaurant closed years ago." -- Delaware voter.

On a rare day when UHub had no mention of MBTA delays, Congressman Moulton, notably quiet during the MBTA months-long winter meltdown under Democrat holdovers, now claims the Orange Line isn't meeting his expectations. With the Democrat party relegated to long-term minority status in the US House, both MA US Senate seats dutifully occupied by far-left puppets and no room to advance quickly in Washington, Moulton is now "taking the train" to position himself for statewide office. "On a rainy night before Veteran's Day in 2015, stuck on the dysfunctional Orange Line, I decided I could make a difference at the state level."

Seth, try the soup at Katie's. Cold but hearty.

I give it five derps. Or more.

One would think that you would appreciate an honest military man who bumped a crook from office, but you can't see past the fact that he's firmly in the reality camp.

Or that the daycare for sociopaths known as Congressional Republicans is going to close soon.

Remarkable lack of self awareness, considering the homophobia employed by Tom McGee and the State Committee to ensure a Democratic victory by Moulton. And REPUBLICANS are the "sociopaths"? Just.......wow.

Swirly slinging the word "sociopath" at 200-plus people may look like the Politics of Personal Destruction. But in Swirly's world, it just sound policy because of who she's directing it at.

What we need now is a vast right wing conspiracy accusation to complete the "discussion."

all three of us can be vast, right?

I not familiar with the specific instances of homophobia to which you are referring, but I can say this about that race: Tisei would have been elected over anyone...except Moulton.

Moulton was/is a formidable candidate. Harvard pedigree, active duty service, private sector business experience, eloquent, "good guy" feel. I think that he could have beaten most people in the state (and anyone who wasn't an incumbent). Let's hope that Congress doesn't beat the decency out of him.

I like Rich Tisei, too. The guy just caught a very bad break with Moulton showing up. I wish that one of them would move to any number of other districts across the state because we'd be better off with both of them in Congress.

I for one welcome more informative quotes from "Delaware Voter," whoever the fuck that's supposed to be.

Sure, this will live on for ever in the Great Pantheon of Tweets by People Stuck on the T. No wonder you are so cynical.

You've been staring at that bowl from Katie's for 7 years now just waiting to fling it across the room along with your feces. Did it really take that long to find just the right way to backdoor it into a conversation about public transportation? Or were you looking through your Sarah Palin pop-up book and get reminded of the time she sounded like a simpleton next to Biden and felt the need to tie it into the very next thing you posted on UHub?

This silly attack gives me one more reason that I'm glad that I voted for Moulton.

Nice to see a politician using the MBTA. Are there any others, besides Michael Dukakis?

First for your service to your country.
Second for riding the Orange Line, now all politicians trying to get some street cred will have to ride the rails to show how macho they are. I'm sure they will bring along their phalanx of state police bodyguards just in case they encounter CHUDS.

I don’t ride the T every day, but any time I do, I expect the train to stop unexpectedly in the middle of a tunnel with no explanation. When it doesn’t, it’s a good day. Adding to the fun are the tourists that are startled when this happens until they look around to see everyone else yawning.

Even more fun is when the first-timers and occasional users complain loudly about how crowded it is, how slow it is, how broken it is, etc. Yes, we know, you are literally surrounded by people who know this better than you possibly could, so please shut up and stop making it worse.

south of Savin Hill and you see people from the suburbs start to think OMG I'M NOT ON THE BRAINTREE TRAIN THEY'RE GOING TO KILL ME!!

I once saw some guy in a leisure suit quake all the way to Ashmont. I suspect he was hoping the train would just turn around without his having to get off.
