On top of the world in West Roxbury

Every once in awhile, the DCR holds an open house for the Bellevue Standpipe, atop the highest natural point in Boston - 388-foot Bellevue Hill. David Parsons went to the one yesterday and took some pictures.

Where and how...
...was this announced (if it was)?
As far as I know, only on DCR
As far as I know, only on DCR's little events mailing list and little signs in front of the gates and at the end of the West Roxbury Parkway (which is very hard and dangerous to read). I'm really glad I saw the sign in front of the gate and checked it out, it was very interesting.
Thanks
Is the mailing list sign-up easy to find on the DCR site?
The MDC?
Do you mean the organization that about ten years ago was merged with the state's other state park agency, the DEM, to create the DCR? Or the department of the former MDC that operated the metropolitan water system and was broken off in the 1980s to form the MWRA?
DCR
Ugh, thanks, fixed.
Old names die hard.
Old names die hard.
You still hear cops refer to Boston EMS as H&H (Health & Hospitals), and BMC as "City Hospital" and those names changed nearly a decade before MDC became DCR.

Haha, yeah
I figured that was the case. I should add that after reading it again, my post looked far more pedantic than intended. Sometimes slight snark doesn't really translate on an online post, so my apologies if that's how it cam across...
Changed Their Name, But Duplication Of Services Remains The Same
