A graffiti-hating citizen reports this "illegal graffiti" on Bolton Street in South Boston. We await the city blasting this off, to be followed by a complaint about unleashed dogs running amok on Bolton.
It seems to be a small private parking lot, exactly the sort of thing that a bunch of entitled and immature dog owners would let their dogs poop in when they think no one would notice.
Yeah - let's graffiti and area where the public walks on to tell them you can't bring a dog. My dog would happily take a piss on that for them. Just for good measure.
It's clearly at the entrance to something. Putting aside your entitled attitude, there is a huge dog waste problem and many owners don't seem to be responsible or mature enough to pick up after their dogs.
Walking by Buckley Park between W 3rd and Bolton, I have noticed spray painted graffiti in another area pointing out the unleashed dogs in the park, which I find to be hilarious. I can't imagine what is going on in the head of the person vandalizing the park ... unleashed dogs are a nuisance and bad for the neighborhood, but graffiti, no big deal. The laws don't apply to this person apparently, classic case of do as I say, not as I do.
You can't pick and choose which laws you have to follow or not. Complaining about one crime while committing another make you no better than the original scofflaw.
Is death by dog a common problem in Boston? Could you even site a single dog related felony? Just because there are "misdemeanors" vs "felonies" doesn't mean it applies to all situations.
Law enforcement picks and choose which laws they enforce. Medal of Honor park has unleashed dogs running all over the place with zero enforcement of the leash laws.
Looks like it's on a sidewalk, which is usually an easement on private property, not city property. This might be slightly more complicated. Painting your own sign there is probably not allowed though.

It varies from state to state, and I'm not entirely sure what the policy is in Massachusetts. Sometimes sidewalks are public property, sometimes it's just an easement. (And I guess in practice it can be a mixture of both.) Can't seem to find any legal statement on the matter for this state.
That being said, the City of Boston has a website for viewing property listings and the map shows property lines not extending all the way to the road. Not sure how seriously that should be taken, but on its face it says sidewalks are public property.
When you buy a new car, all of a sudden, you start seeing that car everywhere.
You're suffering from the same thing here. You see one fairly unoffensive post about some 311 complaint and you see grar South Boston obsession!
I thought about fixing your problem by creating a version of the site totally devoid of South Boston items. But I realized it wouldn't be worth the two minutes of form filling it would take, because the site wouldn't be all that much different since I don't actually write about South Boston as much as you think I do. So instead, a suggestion: Since any mention of South Boston here offends your tender sensibilities, here's a site I think you'll enjoy more, especially the rantings dulcet tones of John Ciccone, who thinks the country in general and South Boston in particular are under constant attack by the forces of Godless secular heathens. Have fun.
I'm a local 'townie' (not C-town), from a so-called working class background, graduated college with honors; and listen to this: I'm Agnostic, borderline Atheist. Nice try, trying to paint me as something I'm not, and putting words in my mouth that I didn't say, nor imply.
The rigid ideological obsessions and dogmas some people have are as bad as, or worse, than 95% of standard religious people I know. It seems to permeate every facet of some people's lives. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
A-Man , sometimes when you see a location mentioned , you think back and remember things like maybe there was a brewery there and some stories about that , or of a church that you might have gone to . What is wrong with that? Its not always about gas stations or barrooms abandoned and being developed with new housing with not enough parking spaces (three- deckers are an endangered species ). Your side of the plane has your say, the other side can do the same.
I think we've gotten to the point where certain people assume I hate a neighborhood when I dare mention its name and ignore the positive stuff, the development stuff (whether that's positive or not is another discussion) , the feature photos.
Yeah, I write about crime in that neighborhood. I write about crime in every neighborhood, even my own.
It's true, I'll grant you I don't have the "where the X used to be" memory of that neighborhood like I do for say, my own or the neighborhood next door.
But, eh, whatever, I'll keep on writing and some people will keep on hating, which gets back to my question of why people spend so much time on a site that they just can't stand.
A-Man , I get more than you think I do from posts , I am just not a smooth typing devil like you and your wing mates. I dont know how you infer that I cant stand this site ( your comment is staggered under mine so I got collateralized here , ouch). But maybe the nostalgic perspective is sacred to some , the bad endured with the good of things past. I got a good ''X used to be here'' story for you , from another neighborhood. I was once in a place , and there was a vault used for storage. It used to be a credit union , back when Kasanof had a bakery. I worked for a guy whose wife worked in that credit union. It was a kind moment and a sad one all at once , if you can dig it.Progress aint all what its cracked up to be.Have a nice Rosh Chodesh Tevet my man , an tsíocháin a bheith in éineacht leat !

I think it actualy reads...
"I YO DOGS!" a friendly greeting among dog lovers.
Anti-canine message
or more like "Keep your dogs off my property."? My vote is for the latter.

Uncontrolled dogs are a legitimate health hazard. I don't think anyone's ever been sent to the hospital as a result of getting jumped by graffiti.
You're not special
You can't pick and choose which laws you have to follow or not. Complaining about one crime while committing another make you no better than the original scofflaw.
you shouldnt pick and choose
but if somebody was going to break the law "at" me i'd rather they sprayed me with paint than murdered me
things aren't black and white, which is why we have things like "misdemeanors" vs "felonies" and different punishments depending on the crime!
fucked up, i know
You paint with a wide brush, my friend

Someone add a comma so it says "No, Dogs!"
Good idea
Another alternative is add a S and W to "no": Snow Dogs!

Or at least for a some time prior to July of 2014, but recently repainted.

If it said "no parking"
Then what?
Well it depends on the legal jurisdiction

More South Boston obsession
Click bait. I don't understand this obsession some have with South Boston, with the locals (AKA 'townies' to non-Boston natives).
It's funny ...
