Pollution Alerts?
I went through some data today and I could not find a year in the last eight where a Boston ozone monitor went this high. A couple in Western MA topped this in 2011, but this was the highest since the NAAQS was dropped in 2008.
In any case, for regular folk, check out www.airnow.gov for the latest levels and alerts for pollution that can be hazardous.
Couldn't find A year in the past 8
Good thing humanity has outlasted your shortsighted outlook.
Dinosorses and 1000's of years beg to differ. Take youre "pet rock" with your 80/90's global cooling and sprinkle on a little Y2K and you sound like a hippy who took a bunch of shity asid.
My god, you did it
Anon, I'm not sure how you managed it, but you've managed to shoot up the leaderboard past FISH's racist jabs, markk's insane diatribes against bikers, and bosguy's idiotic right-wing trolling, and you've grabbed the top spot on the leaderboard for "Dumbest comment ever made on UHub." I kind of want to break it down for the viewers at home, because there's just so much to unpack here, but I also remember from high school English that sometimes when you dissect a work of great literature, you ruin the aesthetic for yourself. And this is one I want to cherish. "Dinosorses." Conflating global warming with ozone concentrations. Using the wrong "your" AND forgetting the apostrophe. Pet rocks! My god! It's like staring into the face of Creator Himself.

I think he took some of that "asid".

I'm confused
Supplementing the colors with bread slices (same scale) might help color blind people but otherwise how is it a meaningful change?
Right now it's a bit vague
Especially given that the Terror Alert it's based on has been out of use for years now. What's the difference between yellow and orange, say?
A 1-5 slice scale might be easier to grasp (don't worry: I'd keep the colors for, um, backwards compatibility - and old time's sake).
Colors work, mostly
Except for the color blind, so if you were the T and you had to deal with ADA, you'd be SOL. I started a site a few years back using the Homeland Security color scale (about the TSA, so it made sense) and it seems to work well enough.
Bread types
Would challah bread French Toast be the top of the chart meaning the utmost level of deliciousness/storm impact?
Freezer aisle Texas Toast would clearly be the worst.
YES
I support french toast in the summer!
Agree
We need hurricane alerts too.
We need a gluten-free alert
We need a gluten-free alert level!
Let's not over complicate things
The current system is just fine thank you.
maybe...
rather then slices, loafs of bread instead
Good idea
The amount of food in the icon could increase with severity.
Loaves
Now that you mention it, loaves makes more sense than slices. How many loaves of bread will you buy before the storm? One, because I was running low on bread anyway. Two, maybe better buy some extra, just in case. Etc.
Going TWC on us?
This is like The Weather Channel's goofy winter storm names thing.
Keep the colors.
Keep the colors.
