How can you have a people's republic without a Communist bookstore?

Revolution Books, 1158 Mass. Ave. in Harvard Square, is closing for good on July 23.
There are serious plans to make leaps in building a movement for an actual revolution. In order to contribute to this exciting new direction, Revolution Books Cambridge is going to focus on taking the works of Bob Avakian and the RCP, USA, including www.revcom.us, Revolution newspaper, and other revolutionary literature and videos directly out to the people. To accomplish this, we will no longer be able to maintain the bookstore at 1158 Mass Ave.
At least there's still the Lucy Parsons Center in Jamaica Plain.

Actually, there's already a froyo place right underneath this location...
I used to live on St Marks in the East Village in the 90's, which by the mid-2000's had a half-dozen froyo places over just a few blocks. At least that trend seems to have died some over the last half-decade. Even here, some places have shutdown in Harvard (changing to the BAO craze) and Davis.

That's probably too small
That's probably too small (and awkward storefront-wise) for a chain--I walk by it almost every day. It's also more on the outskirts of the square, where tourists don't really venture to. That block is actually still one of the remaining areas with almost all local shops.
The thing that amazes me about HS over the years is the sheer number of banks--it seems to average a new one ever other year. Are there really this many people doing on-premise banking in HS? It's not like they are full financial/investment offices like downtown Boston--they are just regular bank branches. Pretty soon there will only be places to get money, but no places to spend money there.

The plutocrats are putting banks in all the spaces in Harvard Square to prevent any hippie/anti-establishment ventures from locating there. The place has been annoying them since the '60s. Once it's wall-to-wall banks, they will wait for the counterculturists to stop going there. Then they will install McDonalds, Starbucks, Whole Foods, and other plutocrat-approved chains to take over. Then, only Harvard students will have any reason to go there.
It's not that communist bookstores are inherently flawed...
...it's just that they didn't implement this communist bookstore correctly.

Still, it was an actually existing communist bookstore in our time.

Back around 1980 I lived on Putnam Ave and passed the shop frequently on the way to the Square. RCP posters were ubiquitous and pitiful.
I used to grind my teeth every time I saw the words "Stop the Railroad of Bob Avakian." It's "railroading", you idiots! Unless, of course, he was operating a competitor to Timothy Mellon's non-union Sprigfield Terminal railroad.
One night the RCP had a benefit dance at King School. Their doormen were white would-be Panthers in black leather jackets, berets, and sunglasses. I didn't see anyone at all going in. "I gave a party and nobody came" is a trigger trope for me, so I felt sorry for them. But not sorry enough to go into their dance or bookstore or figure out what Bob Avakian was teaching.
