Trumped up tree taunts thief
By adamg on Fri, 08/19/2016 - 10:52am
Kevin Connolly this morning shows us the tree in front of the Walpole house where a spelling-challenged Trump hater keeps stealing the sign. Connolly notes this is not his house.

I hate Trump, but
I admire this citizen's tenacity and refusal to let some jerk take away his right to participate in the political process.
he just signed the death warrant for that tree
he just signed the death warrant for that tree
and?
What good are trees? Global warming is just a plot by the Chinese to cripple the United States' economy. Stuff it, scientist!
Acme Tree Service
This is getting to the level of a Warner Bros. animated.
Catch the person stealing the sign
They're suppressing political speech, and need to go to jail.
And if it turns out to be a Trump supporter, publicize the hell out of that.
Jail? Really?
Let's say, for the sake of argument, that it's this guy's neighbor down the street. He's got no priors, he's just a dipshit.
You want to send him to jail for this? Not a fine, not a written apology, not a suspended sentence subject to not messing with anybody's political speech in the future, but jail?
Seems a lot ridiculous.
Except...
"suppressing political speech" isn't a crime. The gub'mint can't do it, but your average dude on the street can suppress all he wants.
What he CAN'T do is trespass onto your property and take your stuff. So let's punish people for the illegal stuff, yeah?
Not some kind of criminal violation of civil rights?
?
I like how the person makes a single typo
and we all rush to dub them "spelling challenged."
Well...
When you claim to be oh-so-better than someone else in every way imaginable, it's probably best to have perfect spelling in your arrogant rant letter.
I still say
that the letter sounded phony to me. I say set up security cameras, put up a new accessible sign, and catch the thief in the act. Just sayin'--it wouldn't surprise me if the guy were stealing his own signs just to act the victim.
lmfao
nice conspiracy theory bro
I'm skeptical
What are the chances that your average Trump supporter would spell "intelligence," "simpletons," and "dimwitted" correctly in the same note?
it would require too much
self awareness
Right
But we're not perfect, the lot of us. For example, some people place Trump signs around various areas of their lawns.
Wouldnt it be great
If they find out the thief was the guys wife.
Well
we know they have a tall ladder.
I mean, good for the guy for
I mean, good for the guy for sticking to his guns and putting the sign back out front. I honestly mean it, and nobody should be allowed to infringe upon his right to idiotic self-expression.
But isn't hanging it from a tree 12 feet above the ground where no driver can see it the same as not hanging it at all? Like, your neighbor across the street can see it through a second floor window, but nobody else is going to notice it unless they're specifically looking for it. And that is the effective equivalent of not having a sign out front, except as a notice to other kookoobirds that here is where you roost.
I'm sure it's now the
I'm sure it's now the principle of not backing down rather than the message itself. And by now that sign, posted way way up, has already garnered more attention and views via UHub alone than any sign would have from passers-by.
The only thing better than
The only thing better than finding that sign missing again would be if the thief replaced it with a Hillary sign.
and ...
... even higher.
Trump sign
Display it proudly. Bigger is better. Love the viet vet cap on the news. Hope your an expert not a marksman
