One of the best hitters in Boston Red Sox history
Ok it's time to name one of the Tunnels in Boston the David Ortiz tunnel.
I believe the Ted Williams tunnels yes I said tunnels one going to Logan from Boston
And the other from Logan to Boston both tunnels named Ted Williams , let's rename the tunnel going from Logan to Boston the David Ortiz tunnel.
The city of Boston named a shit bridge that goes over the mass pike The David Ortiz bridge, what an insult to one of Bostons sports icons since Babe Ruth.. how about renaming city hall plaza after Ortiz , Boston is still one of the racist cities and will remain racist. My opinion..
Ortiz is a treasure. I don't see how naming a bridge -- any bridge -- after him can be seen as an insult, or as an example of racism. Do you honestly think Ortiz feels insulted?
They're going to retire his number next year, which is the fastest the Sox have done that for anyone. The previous fastest-retired number was Yastrezmski, and it took them 6 years to get around to it. Are the Sox disrespecting Ortiz by doing that?
Ortiz is a happy man, who's being universally recognized for his accomplishments. You seem to be looking at the situation through crap-colored glasses.
Poetic justice for Terry Francona to sweep the Red Sox after the despicable way he was treated by management on his exit. Also great to see John Henry deprived of any additional revenue after milking the David Ortiz retirement for all it was worth, not to mention the outrageous fake Trump page in Henry's Globe. Did they really name the overpass outside Cask 'n Flagon for Ortiz and not a veteran or marathon victim? Sorry for the little guys around the park and the region who will lose out on the rapid end to the playoffs, the bartenders, parking lot attendants, vendors, etc. but life will go on without Ortiz. Excuse me while I light a cigar for Elizabeth Warren and all other Indians.

There's really no need for any of this to say thank you to someone. I enjoy a good debate as much as anyone out here, but sometimes it's not the time or place.
Can we all just say thank you to Papi for what he's done on and off the field and save the vitriol for later?
And yes, cubs Indians and go cubs. Your turn Cubbies!
You're really going to find a way to tie politics into David Ortiz retiring?
I didn't tie anyone to politics, they did. Ortiz spoke out against Mr. Trump's plan for secure borders as "an insult to Latin people." May I disagree, or is Ortiz too saintly a figure? As for Henry, the politics of the failing Boston Globe speak for itself. Sen. Warren calls herself an Indian, so I wanted to congratulate her on the series sweep.
Perhaps worse than politics, Henry's management group leaking the cruel, personal information on Terry Francona's marriage and (legal) prescriptions in an effort to make the team look better during his dismissal. So it was great to see Francona triumph.
By the way, was tonight still about David Ortiz retirement or the 40 man roster trying to win a game? When Yaz, a far better player, retired in 1983 there was a short ceremony and they gave him a rocking chair, then "play ball". There's no "i" in team but two in David Ortiz. Sox deserved to lose.

False equivalency. A man is allowed to have a political opinion and to make political statements. Ortiz did not politicize his gameplay tonight, so dredging it up is not appropriate.
Pretty sure you know that and simply don't care, which is why I don't care enough to log in and point out your error under my name.

Nice airy ranting non sequitur.
I'm sure Papi appreciates the vitriol.

Man you are insufferable. You
Man you are insufferable. You're really going to find a way to tie politics into David Ortiz retiring? Give it a rest.
He's just depressed ...
That he's never going to see Republicans in power again in his lifetime.
In the meantime, I'm now rooting for a Cubs/Indians World Series - it'll be like old home week.
Me too!
But will root for the Indians to take it all. Would be good to see Crisp, Napoli and Francona win.

Pay attention, Ortiz and Henry outspoken liberals

The real loser
The real loser is you Fishy. So much anger and hatred. Sad.
No, you were the one to politicize it.

Besides, I like this one anyway. It suits you.
Hey look, it's a punchbowl!
And here comes O--FISH-L to piss in it!
Definition of a useless person: one who has no function other than to try and rain on others' parades. How does it feel to be a waste of skin, fishy?
Yes, it will. We'll have a
Yes, it will. We'll have a lot more speed on the bases.
And
The Sox can rotate the DH position, let the position players take a day off from fielding.
We will?
What speedy DH are the sox going to sign?
Signed
Hanley Ramirez. I figured his stint at first was a 1 year deal before taking Papi's place.
Hanley speedy?
Maybe 10 yrs ago. Not so much today.
Not really
But faster than papi (hell I'm faster than papi). a pure hitter when he's on. Extend his career and you don't fill your 4-5 holes w speed anyway.
Not so fast!
Don't forget there's a morbidly obese panda coming off the DL that they're going to have to slot in somewhere.
