That's a very apt description
of a GMC Yukon - a lead zeppelin.
Does anybody remember
Does anybody remember laughter?
Remember the stocking full of deicer trick?
Spring 2015: lots of stockings in hedgerows.
Truck
Wonder if it came to Boston from over the hills and far away.
And as we wind on down the
And as we wind on down the road ...
This is the wonder of devotion
I see the torch we all must hold
Really Makes Me Wonder...
... if folks born after 2000 or so will realize that the name of the band wasn't Light-Emitting Diode Zeppelin?

LEDs?
Do young people even know that LED stands for light emitting diode? I can't remember the last time I heard anyone talk about diodes - light emitting, zener, or otherwise.
True
But I was thinking more of them pronouncing it as L.E.D. Zeppelin.

Not supposed to get
Not supposed to get inspection stickers any more with obstructed plate / plate-holders.
Yeah!
I went to Brownies Texaco in Orleans to get inspected once and Brownie grabbed my decorative plate holder and ripped it off with his bare hands. "You can't have these things on your plate." Yes sir!
Actually, it's only the state name and numbers
that can't be obstructed. SCOTUS ruled some time back that you cannot be required to display the state slogan.
"And there's a wino down the road!"
True story: a college freshman friend objected to my playing "Are You Experienced?" in my dorm room: "Isn't that dude [uglier homophobic slur than] gay?" "What the hell are you talking about?" "You know: ' 'Scuse me while I kiss this guy.'" Hilarity ensured.
Twenty years later, somebody started the website kissthisguy.com, dedicated to misheard lyrics. Wish I'd thought of it. Another million-cent idea gone by the boards.
High school friend, wailing along to Boston: "All I want is to have a piece of mind."
My favorite of kissthisguy's funniest: "Might as well face it, you're a dick with a glove."
I had to break it to my
I had to break it to my brother that Phil Collins was not in fact singing "She's an easy llama". Although the song would be greatly improved if he were.
Understandable. What makes more sense: Phil Collins a
llama-humper or not?
In fairness, I couldn't have correctly parsed the chorus to "Pour Some Sugar on Me" for a thousand bucks. Just one of those songs that I never knew what the hell they were singing, hated enough to never bother looking up. "Suuuhmthing, something rah-reeee." Screw it: I loathe this band.
Plenty of blurry elisions even in songs I have been listening to for decades. Turns out Neil Young was singing in "Old Man": "Ah, one look in my eyes and you can tell that's true." That "Ah, one" baffled me up until about three days ago. Spoiler alert: the dude he's singing to is not named Arwahn, my best guess as a 12-year-old Tolkien nerd.
I can remember a grade-school debate with my buddies about the lyric, "I'm not talking 'bout movin' in, and I don't want to change your life." We just couldn't figure out the first half of that line, in retrospect likely because of the weird syllable stresses. "I'm not talking 'bout meridian" clearly did not make any sense. We kept interpolating phonemes that simply weren't there, trying to make a clunky line scan better.
An unrelated Aha Moment, when a friend pointed out that Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was biting the key riff from "More Than a Feeling", which Cobain later copped to.
Cool.
Here's Nirvana playing Teen Spirit with a More Than a Feeling intro. (Starts at :15 secs)

I Swear I'm Not Making This Up
The first time MY WIFE heard Deep Purple's "Highway Star", she thought the line "Nobody's gonna take my girl, she stays close on every bend" was, instead, "Nobody's gonna take my girl, she eats coleslaw every day."
Despite that, we've been married 24 years now.
