UPDATE, 3:58 p.m. WBZ reports he's been captured in Somerville.

UPDATE: Cambridge Police report the suspect may be escaped Cambridge desperado James Walker Morales.

Police searching for the guy who held up the Bank of America branch at 772 Mass. Ave. around 9:30 a.m. halted the Red Line so they could search cars for him - because they know that bank robbers like to try to escape on the Red Line when they don't have a getaway car.

Well that escalated quickly....I commute from Harvard and thankfully missed the chaos by an hour or so. Let's hope they nab the sob soon given how great BPD is.

I saw the suspect pic from the robbery, and he's at least smart enough to wear a scarf.

Still in shock (if this does turn out to be him) that he came back to Cambridge. And even more in shock that he hasn't been caught yet. Everyone knows where his apartment is!

OK, this guy clearly fucked up. A lot. But they're posting his SSN and driver's license number? We're now subjecting people in the criminal justice system to identity theft?

Doesn't look like the same guy to me. Hope they don't shoot the robber to find out he's just another sap trying to rob a bank. Was he even armed?

I agree. The mugshot and one released by Cambridge PD are close. His hair is very different.
