Nooooo!!!!!
Nooooo!!!!!
Another Korean restaurant
Another Korean restaurant, just what Allston needs.
I'm gonna miss the fried mac n cheese
Korean
I thought you were kidding. It really is going to be a Korean restaurant and I want to f'ing throw up right now.
I had the same thought
as well. I'm guessing nobody involved with this went to business school, or has even set foot inside an economics class, as the term "market saturation" is clearly a foreign concept.
I give it a year, if that.
More Than Enough Customers For Another One
I don't know if you've been down and around there but even on weeknights many of the fine [and the food is quite good at most] Korean restaurants in Allston have lines out the door. They are [mostly] very popular, and not just with Korean students.
I don't doubt it
But does that area REALLY need another one, let alone at the expense of damn good BBQ? If the lines are that long, one new place won't magically alleviate it, especially if people have their go-to spot(s) already.
[I say this as I'm sitting inside, about to enjoy my last meal there]
Well that's sad. They were
Well that's sad. They were probably the best place for brisket in the Boston area.
Have you been to Blue Ribbon?
I can't speak to their brisket, or the Newton location, but the pulled pork at the Arlington location is some of the best I've ever had. Their sauces are all damn good too, definitely best in the area IMO. Probably my second favorite BBQ joint period, next Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse.
Blue Ribbon is ok. Their
Blue Ribbon is ok. Their brisket is usually too dry/very little fat.
Fair enough
I was never a huge brisket guy, and I'll definitely be sticking to the pulled pork now.
Good enough bbq
I'd say it was above average bbq, but the place had a fun, relaxed atmosphere. I only went twice. Shame. I wish there was good bbq in Rozzy/West Roxbury. Too bad Red Eyed Pig doesn't have tables.
Not exactly Rozzie/Westie,
Not exactly Rozzie/Westie, but Blue Ribbon is supposedly opening another location in Dedham Square, which isn't depending on where exactly you are may actually be closer than Allston
Allston's transition to
Allston's transition to Boston's Koreatown continues. (That's not a bad thing!)
I will miss Soul Fire though. Their BBQ is among the best in Boston.
