Citizen complaint of the day: This cone offends my sensibilities
A cone-cerned citizen files a 311 complaint about a solitary cone sitting on Mt. Vernon Street behind the State House, just past the turn from Hancock Street:
Who put the cone there?? Was it the neighbors or was it the city. Also, there is over a thousand "no parking" signs over the city. Why do you feel the need to put the cone down there and not around any others around the city??? Please answer that question!
And since City Hall is nothing if not accommodating, it answers that question!
The cone is placed there most likely by the State house because some people ignore the signs and when they park in that spot trucks are unable to make the turn onto Mt Vernon St .

Kibo!

I never knew of Kibo, thanks
thanks for the excellent link
The cone belongs to either
The cone belongs to either the State Police or the DCR Rangers. As the City says, it marks a "No Stopping Anytime - Tow Zone" at the corner of Mount Vernon and Hancock that should be a "no stopping or standing anytime." If someone is parked or standing in the illegal spot, fire trucks from Cambridge St. trying to get across Beacon Hill (everything is one-way the wrong way) will get stuck at the narrow corner.
There is a legal handicapped on-street spot in front of the cone.

"cone-cerned" made me laugh more in the moment than I would have expected.
