But only after 45 pages of sitting still, with a "We're being held for traffic ahead and will be moving shortly" announcement on every eighth page.

Does the T have a Reading Buddies arrangement with a local school, as some government agencies do?

Often the managers and executives don't volunteer to be a Reading Buddy. Is he trying to be a role model?

After reading to the kids Brian serenaded them with his two favorite tunes "Charlie on the MTA" and "Take this job and shove it."

I'm sorry, but no matter how many Joes and Brians you throw at me, I refuse to believe that Shortsleeve is actually someone's name.

Brian is Joe's nephew.

And... Shortsleeve is a very Irish last name supposedly. I remember Joe stating that one day on WBZ News as his most "commonly asked question". (along with Paula Ebben being a doppleganger for Cameron Diaz)

years ago joe did a story about boston city workers (water and sewer??) and whether they had the right to drink alcohol during their lunch breaks. I know they have done many of these stores since then but this one was at least 20 years ago and joe shortsleeve was the lead reporter. anyway, one night I was walking with some friends and we met up with some water and sewer guys that were looking for a leak or something. we chatted with the guys for a bit. I think we may have asked them to buy us beer, but I don't remember all the details. I do remember one thing very clearly though. right before they left one of them pulled a large icepick from the floor of the truck and showed it to us. it was about a foot and a half long and on the handle someone had written JOE SHORTSLEEVE. the guy held it up and asked us if we had "ever seen any joe shortlseeves around here?" we said no and he said if we did to let him know because they had a very special gift they wanted to give him personally. I remember them laughing maniacly and driving away and wondering where the hell joe shortsleeve was that night.

Such a great program. But what book is he reading? Excerpt: "......It was the middle of Summer. The little child stood (there was no seat offered) in the jam-packed Red Line train, wailing to his patient mother, waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting for almost one half hour for the train to arrive. 'Shhhhhh,' his mother whispered, but the overheated child just wanted fresh air. Passengers were wondering what the problem was because there was no notice announced on the driver's intercom as to why the train sat for so long in the dark, hot tunnel. Silent panic and racing thoughts were happening in each passenger's mind. BUT WAIT! All of a sudden, the driver's faint voice came across the microphone, Attinshinpassunguhs...please.......moomint"...(fade to black). .......................The next morning, riders read in the news that one of switches stopped working which caused a huge delay. The MBTA couldn't fix the problem because there was no money but Choo Choo Charlie had some electrical tape which seemed to have fixed the problem momentarily. I mean temporarily.

Stealth trolling in three easy steps!

Step 1: Take picture of your boss and post on the internet;

Step 2: Encourage folks to make memes most dank;

Step 3: Laugh your ass off at the results on the Green Line ride home!

I'm sincerely glad to see storytime is still a thing in 2017!

And I'll be sincerely glad when the T finally flushes Shitsleeve outta the GM's office!
