Felix Arroyo Jr. under investigation but still on the job at City Hall

The Herald reports Mayor Walsh confirms Arroyo - who ran against him for mayor in 2013 - is under investigation, but won't say for what.

His father, Felix Sr., is on leave as register of probate.

After the election, Walsh appointed Arroyo as his chief of health and human services - one of three mayoral competitors he named to cabinet-type positions.

Did that Team of Rivals thing work out for anybody but Lincoln?

We got the global headquarters of GE, with Amazon going in next door. Some might not like the deals cut, but I would say that Barros is doing what someone in charge of economic development should be doing and doing a good job at it.

they voted for Barros first and regret he didn't win.

There's literally nothing Walsh has done well that Barros wouldn't have done as well and he would have been 1000 better on the larger picture stuff.

Since Barros came in fourth in the preliminary.

Good guy, though. I could see him as mayor (or a higher office).

Some day.

As former City Councilor and former Council Staffer failed to advocate for making available the City Stenographer Stenographic Record of Public Meetings of Boston City Council for hard of hearing folks, for all folks.

Seriously, this is truly getting old, Don.

Any corporation, including the City, is only required BY LAW -- and that is the key phrase here whether you like it or not -- BY LAW -- to record the key points of a meeting, frame discussions in brief, and record any formal votes. That is all. Don't like the LAW? Write a new one and have your state rep file it for consideration in the legislature. That is where corporate laws and regulations exist - not at the city level.

Wanting the steno records of every cough, sneeeze, and comment is just not reliable or necessary. Indeed even the stenographer cannot record any side comments that are not caught on an open microphone.

The minutes -- official -- are available, and the video is also available. If someone cannot view it at home they can view it at a public library. The odds are if they cannot view the video, they cannot view any text either.

The City council publishes a list of upcoming sessions and discussions and any person can get on e-mail distribution for that. Once in hand any person can e-mail their councilor or even send a postal letter0 to issue their commentary on topics, or even plan to attend open hearings in the Council meeting rooms. I get that all the time. Even the City Council President dispatches summaries 9not the steno records) of what took place after the fact. I get all of that as well.

I find it satisfying.

Do you get this stuff by e-mail? I get zoning board change notices, snow alerts, parking alerts, permit application notices, and more. It's all there for the taking. Anyone can know everything that si going on, rather than complaining that no one does.

I do, so please keep me out of the summary count.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Mayor Walsh isn't helping the cause by confirming an investigation without saying what it's all about. That leaves a lot to the imagination. As for the Trial Court investigation into Felix Arroyo Sr., I think the Unabomber investigation took less time. I believe his office was put under control of a special Essex County probate official last October and the investigation was well underway in February. Tomorrow is August. Almost a year of paid vacation for Senior. Only in MA.

Father and Son enjoying paid administrative leave simultaneously -- is that a new Mass. record?

They're not Senior and Junior -- the elder is Felix D.; the junior is Felix G.
