When did everyone suddenly decide that
the day before Thanksgiving is now called "Thanksgiving Eve"?
That's what it means
Eve - the day or period of time immediately before an event or occasion.
The day after
They decided pies are too hard to bake themselves.

...but Renee and her crew were working hard despite a malfunctioning oven. She told those waiting that if they can come back in Thanksgiving morning, they'd be open at 7 am for pickup. I can't imagine a worse day for an oven failure for a bakery.
