JP restaurant seeks help to make rent after employee walks off with money

A fan of Cafe Beirut on Centre Street has set up a GoFundMe page to help owner Brian O'Muimhneacháin make up the $6,000 an employee managed to skim:
Though the perpetrator has been identified and proper action is being taken, it appears unlikely that money will be recovered in time to cut the rent check, if at all.
We're reaching out to the community to help Café Beirut make rent this month so that they can continue serving the neighborhood they love. Every little bit helps the restaurant get closer to recouping the losses they need so that they can self-sustain operations once again.

Yeah
Maybe if their food was half decent
Never had a bad meal there
That's probably the best way to support them is to go buy lunch.

Yikes, I knew running a restaurant was tough, but I had no idea they might have that little buffer.
Yeah, interesting.
Nice gesture but if this guy is at a lost to pay his monthly rent 'cause someone stole 6k from him, well, I would not want to be running a restaurant with that small of a buffer.

This is the most anti-small business statement I've ever heard. If you just want chain restaurants run by rich restaurant groups then I recommend the PF Chang's in the Back Bay. JP is about community.
You're too late
Pretty sure PF Changs at the Pru closed. At least I *hope* it did.
Negotiate with landlord?
Tried? Failed?
Lesson learned
Get insurance.
who is the landlord? pressure
who is the landlord? pressure should be put on!!!!!!

Always hard to hear about this stuff happening to good local businesses. I wish them the best!!! Plan on supporting
response
wow....I'm shocked at some of these responses. I will buy dinner tomorrow from Cafe Beirut. I don't eat out much but have ordered from here several times and the food was always great. You people can be mean here.
Right?
I ordered takeout from there last night, and I'll kick a few bucks to the GoFundMe. Brian is a standup dude, his restaurant has been a fixture of the neighborhood for over a decade, and they make the best falafel south of the Charles. His finances are none of our business, but I bet if you took a poll, you'd find that a whole lot of people would be in serious trouble if $6000 disappeared from their checking account overnight.
