Congratulations, Philly. See you next year, perhaps.

The Pats worked hard, Philly bested them.

What more can you say?

I thought it used to be on a Friday? Any chance this year that they banked on a Pats win, and the subsequent euphoric fans coming out the next day to cheer on the Sox caravan?

will be in full gloat tomorrow.

And so it goes for the most invisible Red Sox offseason in modern history. I really can't think of another time in my life where they've been this much of an afterthought.

Both our indoor winter teams are playing great and are fun to watch right now

If the Pats have to lose, I'm okay with the 2017 Eagles. Eagles earned it. Have to respect when one is outplayed.

Makes all the stupid rivalries between the governments, the "elimination" of Cream Cheese, and other actions in the past two weeks look particularly foolish.

but they were supposed to look foolish. I guess you missed that.

the departure of a couple of tractor trailers to Florida.

Vacuous.com has the listing of the truck contents:

  • 20,400 baseballs
  • 1,100 bats
  • 200 batting gloves
  • 200 batting helmets
  • 320 Batting Practice tops
  • 160 white game jerseys
  • 300 pairs of pants
  • 400 t-shirts
  • 400 pairs of socks
  • 20 cases of bubble gum
  • 60 cases of sunflower seeds

My understanding is that the Red Sox is a pretty big operation. Couldn't they just buy that shit in Florida and keep it there and then buy another round of it for up here, rather than trucking it all the way down the East coast? Do you mean to tell me that this is all just a big publicity thing for the owner's wife to publish in her chew-toy??? #InnocenceLost

You want the Red Sox to use cheap Floridian sunflower seeds that have not been properly calibrated for cracking force and spitting distance?

I'm of the belief that

a - the general bulk supplies are ordered from the suppliers and delivered directly to Florida

b - anything that needs to come from Fenway is shipped by common ground carrier

c - the "equipment truck" is a decoy. A couple of employees are paid to put some temporary logo panels on the truck, load some empty cartons & gym bags, drive it out of town, remove the fake logo panels at some secluded spot, and return the truck.

explain why the Red Sox even need 20,400 baseballs for spring training in the first place.

Spring Training takes about 50 days? 400 balls a day maybe. Considering you have 100+ players using them. It's not that crazy.*

*All estimates pulled from my ass
