Dan Shaughnessy Watch has the blow-by-blow in which Bill Simmons irritated the pearl that is Dan Shaughnessy, and all without mentioning him specifically.

I've honestly never heard of Bill Simmons
and his Wikipedia page doesn't offer any reason why I should have. He apparently is a sports blogger who got a couple of shows on cable TV?
So, a couple of completely irrelevant individuals are ridiculing each other. Sounds like a business plan for a WEEI show of some sort.
Negative
Don't understand Simmons, it can't all be roses and puff pieces, that's what I like about Shaughnessy, he'll rip whoever (example: Kraft, Schilling, Pedro) and still come back to the locker room. Players need to be held accountable and Dan isn't afraid to let it rip. People will miss him when he retires.
They both have different jobs
Simmons has written tons of in depth analysis on all sorts of topics and it isn't his job to interview Boston athletes and coaches and then write about them.
In Simmons' tweet is wasn't clear if Shaughnessy was one of the "good guys" or "bad guys" but Dan called him a fraud anyway. Simmons has 6 million followers on twitter and even for national sports writers, that is a lot.
As for talking with players face to face, do we really get much out of that anymore anyway besides reactions after wins and losses? Players and coaches are forced to do this (talk to Shank) by rule, so it isn't like Shank is doing something ground breaking here.
Are you Dan's kid?
Dan has a reputation for being tough but he's just a pointless jerk. Owners and managers hold players accountable. - Dan is just a low grade racist who writes the same tired crap on autopilot.
No
I'm not Dan's son. Let me know when Sox management holds David Price accountable for anything.
Racist?
So, you may not like Shank, but calling him a racist is over the top.
Got any examples of his supposed racism?
