The New York Times reports how the Patriots receiver and his assistant in Boston followed up on an Instagram message he got - and helped lead police to a Michigan kid with ready access to two guns threatening to shoot up his school.
Those Texans sure like their guns. In other news they stopped some other texans from shooting up the march we had this weekend. I also believe there were guns that someone tried to bring into the comic-con convention in Boston as well.
The kid was from Michigan, not Texas. Edelman was in Texas at the time.
From the NYT article:
"They then returned to their office, where they made an emergency records request for account information, which allowed them to determine the sender’s email and IP address, which was traced to Port Huron, Mich.
The detectives called police in Michigan, who immediately drove to the house where the threatening message originated. When the police arrived at the address, they found a 14-year-old boy, who, they said, admitted to posting the threat. They also found two rifles that belonged to his mother, according to Capt. Joseph Platzer of the Port Huron Police Department."
Between tunnels falling apart, derailments, other typical MBTA failures, Edelman helping to prevent a possible shooting, and PNF/BCDC submission day it was a pretty hectic news day.
The most interesting thing about this story is that a guy who makes a living catching a football needs an assistant to help him out during his six-month vacation.
Well, they are Fighting Crime, I suppose. Is the assistant's name Robin?

They may, but the kid was in Michigan
My apologies - I screwed that up (Edelman was in Texas, not the kid).
Michigan

Six month vacation? You don't know much about professional football do you?
