Along the Marathon route, an awning caught fire and a light pole began to smoke
By adamg on Mon, 04/15/2019 - 12:40pm
Maggie Hoffman reports the awning at a mattress store on Beacon Street, across from Winchester Street in Brookline, burst into flames shortly before 12:30 p.m., but was quickly put out.
Earlier, around 11:45 a.m., police had to move people away from a light pole outside the Prudential Center, 888 Boylston St., in the Back Bay, when it began arcing and smoking. The problem was an electrical malfunction.
Neither incident required any interruption of the race.

Burnin' Down the House
I guess they really have some smokin' deals there today.
Seems to be a day for fires
:(
I know
So sad about Notre-Dame. :(
I feel like there is a history of bad sh*t happening on Patriot's Day. If I recall correctly, the inferno at Waco, the Oklahoma City bombing, a bad earthquake in California and of course the Boston marathon bombings all happened on Patriot's Day. Seeing footage of the fire today made me sad.
And then there was
The Titanic.
Nah, just a fire sale down at
Nah, just a fire sale down at Mattress Firm.
I have never heard of either
I have never heard of either of these things? Is it common?
No.
No.
Getting lit?
What was the light pole smoking?
