Marchers call for a Cambridge Caribbean festival later this month

Marchers want to celebrate the Caribbean in Cambridge

Greg Cook reports organizers of the now canceled Sept. 8 Caribbean parade and festival in Cambridge rallied at City Hall yesterday to demand permit for a scaled back festival on Sept. 28 or 29 somewhere like University Park.

Cambridge Mayor Marc McGovern vowed to help bring carnival back, both this year and going forward.

Who cares that its 20+ year event that thousands have attended over the years, gotta pay that $73 an hour rate for those police details.

But somehow we have all the resources in the world to give tax-payer funded security for some Alt-Reich edge-lords to goose step about our streets.

Yes my hair-splitting trolls, its an event on the Esplande and not just a parade like the White Pride Parade. Oh and its because of DCR and MSP requirements, not the City of Boston.

The optics are still pretty bad.

is over five years out of date. India Day moved a few years ago to City Hall Plaza, where it was celebrated last month.

In fact I come from a family of cops. But we can't be speaking out against security theater that tries to extort money from the public, nope thats anti-cop and we have to blindly back the blue amirite?

Just remember, you don't have to deep throat the boot, you can just lick it.

Yes it moved to City Hall Plaza, did they have to pay for security? Or was it provided free of charge like the Proud Boys received?

Would've thought from the URL that it was pretty obviously an older article. Gosh, you got me, I'm so totally owned.
