I don’t know
From today’s results I’d say the changing of the guard is complete. Brady, Rogers, Brees, Rivers, Big Ben are looking like dinosaurs and Mahomes, Jackson, etc are the meteor. I just can’t see the old guys competing in this new NFL.
Meteor"s?
Meteors flash quickly and burn out just as quick. Next year you will see the return of the dinosaurs who will once again rule the NFL.
If we’re trying to be accurate with our metaphors
The dinosaurs didn’t do a great job of coming back after the meteor.
Oh yes they did.
They're called "birds" now.
What about Jimmy G?
What about Jimmy G?
What about Jimmy G? Headed to
What about Jimmy G? Headed to the SB, but definitely not Mahomes- or Jackson-esq.
What about Garappalo?
At least 50% of the quarterbacks starting in the Super Bowl this year are more in the Brady line, I'd say.
How old is Jimmy G? How old
How old is Jimmy G? How old are the dinosaurs? You saw Brady's passing this season, throwing the long ball he was often nowhere near his receivers. Just like Manning in his last season, couldn't throw deep.
SF has been successful because they have a great running game and a great defense. It's certainly not because of his passing. 8 attempts in the NFC championship. 8.
Look at the top 2 quarterbacks in college this season - great arms AND mobile. They are an offensive threat in their own right, not just because they can pass. This is the way the NFL is going right now. I believe players like Jackson will have short careers due to injury, (though I think Mahomes will have more longevity because he is less "reckless" in his running) but it's just the direction the game is going.
