They came not to bury DeLeo but to praise him, but kind of buried him anyway

The Cambridge City Council this week defeated a resolution praising House Speaker Robert DeLeo for his years of service, on a 3-3-3 vote. Cambridge Day reports that what is usually a fairly boring vote - city councils the world over pass hundreds of resolutions a year praising people - instead bogged down when some councilors derided DeLeo as being particularly unpraiseworthy.

Good for them
I would not have voted a res to praise him either... this should be reserved for very unique circumstances and people and not doled out like (um, er...) presidential pardons
Good
I think DeLeo is typical weasley politician, but is it really an honor to be praised by 9 Cambridge City Councilors ?
In this school of low
In this school of low expectations that is the State House leadership, DeLeo beat the odds by not getting indicted (yet), unlike his three predecessors and mentors in autocracy.
Besides that, what has he done that's praise worthy?
"At least he stayed out of jail."
That deserves a Nobel Peace Prize!
Or at least a Noble Prize.
Or at least a Noble Prize.
An Ig Nobel.
An Ig Nobel.
DeLeo
I thought DeLeo was bad...then I started reading about his likely replacement.
Depressing...
... eh?
Why can't we do better?
You can, they're called
You can, they're called elections. You get what you vote for.
"We"
The problem is "we" have very little to do with it, unless we have gobs of money laying around.
